Summit Vaccine Refrigerator Freezer Description:
Accucold offers innovative solutions to vaccine storage with stackable purpose-built refrigerator-freezer combinations design to support meeting CDC/VFC guidelines.
Sized just under 24″ wide, the Summit ARG12PV-FS24LSTACKMED2 Vaccine Refrigerator Freezer combines the 12 cu.ft. ARG12PV auto defrost all-refrigerator with the compact FS24LMED2 all-freezer into one slim footprint using Accucold’s StackRack. This ships in three boxes and requires some minor assembly upon delivery.
Refrigerator Summit ARG12PV-FS24LSTACKMED2 Vaccine Refrigerator Freezer is part of Accucold’s Pharma-Vac Performance Series, designed to meet the demanding needs of vaccine storage. It utilizes a microprocessor temperature controller with an adjustable control range from +2 to +8ºC. The buffered temperature probe is encased in a glycol-filled bottle to better simulate temperature of the stored product, with an additional sensor that reads air temperature to ensure superior temperature control. The current and min/max temperature display is viewable in Celsius or Fahrenheit to the nearest tenth of a degree. The audible and visual temperature alarm sounds if the unit’s interior goes out of range. Additional alarms include a power failure alert, door open alarm, and sensor failure alarm. This unit is equipped with remote alarm contacts in the rear and a 1/2″ probe port on the right side to accept additional monitoring devices. The ARG12PV comes with a user-reversible door with a factory-installed antimicrobial handle that is powder-coated with naturally occurring silver ions, which help to reduce the spread of germs, allowing for a safer, cleaner user experience. A hospital grade cord with ‘green dot’ plug is also included for added safety in high traffic areas.
Inside, the Summit ARG12PV-FS24LSTACKMED2 Vaccine Refrigerator Freezer utilizes adjustable cycle defrost operation to avoid temperature spikes. Optimized forced air cooling with two internal fans ensures excellent temperature stability and uniformity with rapid recovery after door openings. The adjustable plastic-coated wire shelves can be positioned at 1/2″ increments to accommodate virtually any sized item. We include seven shelves, more than competitor products providing to maximize interior shelving storage area. This unit includes LED internal lighting with an on/off rocker switch. The interior is constructed from white powder coated metal to ensure added durability and better temperature retention.
Designed to be stacked on top of the ARG12PV, the FS24LMED2 freezer utilizes manual defrost operation, with a digital control panel and NIST calibrated thermometer that provides a continuous display of the current and high/low temperature. This unit is also equipped with a temperature alarm and access port to accept additional monitoring equipment.
Both units include front-mounted keyed locks and powerful magnetic gaskets to ensure a positive seal. Additional stacked combinations are available, including smaller sizes and units with glass doors. NOTE: Accucold refrigerators are purpose-built to the support meeting the current CDC (Centers for Disease Control) guidelines for the storage of vaccines. At this time, Accucold refrigerators have not been evaluated to the new NSF 456 standard. As referenced in the current Vaccine Storage and Handling Toolkit, these units incorporate microprocessor controls and forced air circulation for stable operation between 2 and 8ºC. For additional temperature assurance, the CDC recommends a calibrated digital data logger (DDL), which can be added with the factory-installed option DL2B or addition of the DL2BKit accessory.

Shipping FAQ
How long does shipping take after placing an order?
Estimated time to ship: 5-7 days when in stock. Actual transit will depend on carrier and destination.
Is international shipping available and what should I consider for Melbourne, Australia?
Yes — international shipping is possible. For delivery to Melbourne consider:
• Import duties/customs and GST.
• Freight access: door width, corridor/elevator clearance, floor‐loading capacity.
• Electrical compatibility: Model is specified for 115 V AC/60 Hz (US version); if installing in Australia check for 230 V/50 Hz variant or arrange appropriate transformer/adaptor.
How is the unit packaged for transit and what site requirements should be met?
The unit ships in three boxes (stacked components) with protective packaging. Unpacked footprint ~212 cm H × ~59 cm W × ~62 cm D; depth with door open ~118 cm. Delivery site must have a firm level surface, entry clearance and handling equipment (pallet jack or lift) if required.
What should I do if my shipment arrives damaged or is delayed?
Inspect the shipment on arrival for visible damage or delay. If damage is found, photograph condition, retain the packaging and delivery receipt, then contact supplier with order/tracking details to initiate a claim or replacement.
Application FAQ
How do I install and set up the ARG12PV-FS24LSTACKMED2?
1. Unpack and assemble the stacked units per the supplied instructions: bottom refrigerator section first (ARG12PV), then stack the freezer (FS24LMED2) on top using the StackRack system. Ensure unit is placed upright on a firm, level surface with clearance behind, sides and top for ventilation and allow ~118 cm depth door swing.
2. Connect the unit to a dedicated grounded outlet matching the specification (115 V AC/60 Hz). If in Australia, verify correct variant or provide transformer.
3. Power on the unit. For refrigerator section, set target to +2 °C to +8 °C. For freezer section, set target to -20 °C to -15 °C. Allow several hours (typically ~4-6 h) for internal temperature stabilization before loading sensitive contents.
What best practices should I follow when storing vaccines, medication or frozen materials?
• In the refrigerator section: use the adjustable wire shelves; avoid over‐packing or blocking airflow to maintain uniform internal temperature.
• In the freezer section: ensure adequate spacing for airflow and correct rack placement for freeze storage.
• Label all items clearly with date/time, batch or user ID for traceability and audit readiness.
• Minimize door openings, and keep frequently accessed items near front to reduce ambient intrusion.
• Regularly inspect door gasket/seal, hinges, handle/lock mechanism; maintain logs of internal minimum/maximum temperature and any alarm events if required.
What should I do if a temperature excursion or power interruption occurs?
If the unit’s internal temperature rises above or falls below its safe range, or if power interruption occurs:
• Record the event: date/time, observed temperature and impacted contents.
• Immediately transfer critical items to validated backup storage until conditions stabilize.
• Investigate root cause (door left open, ambient heat load, sensor/power fault).
• Once normal operation resumes and internal temperature stabilizes within correct range, verify conditions before returning items.
What maintenance and verification routines are recommended?
• Monthly: Check door gasket/seal, hinges, handle/lock condition.
• Quarterly: Clean condenser coils and ventilation pathways; ensure fan/airflow (if present) is unobstructed and free of dust.
• Periodically: Test audible/visual alarms, external probe port and remote alarm contacts; calibrate sensors if required. Keep service/calibration logs, internal temperature logs and alarm‐event history for regulatory compliance.
