Product FAQ
What is the FS24LMED and what is it used for?
The FS24LMED is a compact, medical-grade all-freezer (~1.4 cu ft / ~40 L) engineered for storage of sensitive medical, pharmaceutical, or laboratory materials. It is capable of reaching around -20 °C, includes a factory installed lock and calibrated high/low temperature alarm with NIST-certified display.
What are the key technical specifications?
• Capacity: 1.4 cu ft (~40 L)
• External dimensions: 51 cm H × 47 cm W × 45 cm D approx. (20″ × 18.5″ × 17.6″)
• Depth with door open: ~88 cm (34.5″)
• Temperature capability: down to -20 °C approx.
• Manual defrost; one removable wire shelf; flat door liner per CDC guidance for vaccine/medical storage.
• Factory installed keyed lock; hospital-grade green-dot plug cord; high/low alarm with NIST display.
What safety and monitoring features are included?
Key features: high/low temperature visual & audible alarm, NIST-calibrated temperature display, probe port for external monitoring, hospital-grade cord, factory locked door. These are critical when storing temperature-sensitive medical materials.
Which environments is this unit best suited for?
Best suited for clinical labs, pharmacies, immunization or medical storage areas needing secure low-temperature storage in a compact footprint. Because of its size and design it may not be ideal for high-volume storage or ultra-low applications (e.g., -80 °C) without further specification.
What warranty coverage is provided?
Manufacturer specifies a 1-year parts & labor warranty, and a 5-year compressor parts warranty.
Shipping FAQ
How long does shipping take after placing an order?
Standard estimated dispatch time is about 3-5 business days when in stock.
Is international shipping available and what should I consider for Melbourne, Australia?
Yes – international shipping is possible. For delivery to Melbourne, Australia consider:
• Import duties and customs clearance including Goods & Services Tax (GST).
• Access/receiving area: verify doorway width/corridor & elevator clearance; unit external dimensions ~51 cm H × 47 cm W × 45 cm D.
• Electrical compatibility: This model is specified for 115 V AC / 60 Hz. For Australian installation (230 V/50 Hz), confirm correct variant or use appropriate converter/adapter.
How is the unit packaged for transit and what site requirements should be met?
The unit ships palletized or boxed; expected unpacked footprint: ~51 cm H × 47 cm W × 45 cm D. Allow additional ~88 cm (34.5″) depth clearance for door opening. Delivery site should have a level surface, handling access and clearance for door swing.
What should I do if my shipment arrives damaged or is delayed?
Upon delivery inspect the packaging and unit for damage or transit impact. If damage is present: photograph condition, retain package, contact your supplier with order/tracking details to file a freight damage claim or request replacement.
Application FAQ
How do I install and set up the FS24LMED?
1. Place the unit upright on a firm, level indoor surface. Ensure space behind and above for ventilation, and verify at least ~88 cm depth clearance for door opening.
2. Connect to a dedicated grounded outlet matching specifications (115 V AC/60 Hz for the U.S. version; check variant for Australia).
3. Turn the dial thermostat to your target freezing temperature (e.g., -20 °C) and allow several hours for internal temperature stabilization before loading sensitive materials.
4. Verify the lock operation, alarm display (high/low temp), probe port (if used), and ensure interior shelving is correctly installed.
What best practices should I follow when using this unit?
• Store items evenly on the wire shelf; avoid blocking vents or over-packing so as not to hamper airflow.
• Label all contents (date/time, batch) for traceability and rotate stock where applicable.
• Minimize door-open time to maintain stable interior temperature; use the display read-out to monitor without opening if possible.
What should I do if a temperature excursion or power interruption occurs?
If internal temperature goes outside the target or a power interruption occurs:
• Record the event: date/time, observed temperature, affected contents.
• Relocate critical items to validated backup storage if required.
• Investigate the root cause (door open too long, ambient heat load, power fault).
• After the unit returns to stable conditions, inspect stored contents before returning to routine use.
What maintenance and verification routines are recommended?
• Monthly: Inspect door gasket/seal, lock/handle mechanism and ensure the unit remains level.
• Quarterly: Clean exterior surfaces, check for dust or debris accumulation around ventilation, verify alarm and probe port functionality.
• Periodically: Maintain logs of minimum and maximum internal temperatures, calibration records, and any alarm or service events—especially important in clinical or regulated settings.
