Summit Compact Medical Vaccine Freezer Description:
Accucold’s Summit FS30LMED2 Compact Medical Vaccine Freezer puts the most commonly requested features into a quality line of all-refrigerators and freezers specially designed to store vaccines and other sensitive materials in medical, scientific, pharmaceutical, and laboratory institutions.
The Summit FS30LMED2 Compact Medical Vaccine Freezer is a compact manual defrost all-freezer designed for use on top of counters. This unit is designed with an external front control panel that allows users to adjust and monitor the temperature without opening the door and exposing stored contents to ambient temperature. A keyed lock offers security and a hospital grade ‘green dot’ cord provides added safety in high traffic environments.
As recommended by the CDC and VFC programs, the FS30LMED2 is equipped with a NIST calibrated thermometer that displays the current, minimum, and maximum temperatures to the nearest tenth of a degree with a readout viewable in Celsius or Fahrenheit. Each FS30LMED2 ships with a certificate of calibration for your records. The thermometer includes an audible alarm to warn users if the interior has gone out of the programmed temperature range. The buffered temperature probe is encased in a glycol-filled bottle to best simulate the temperature of other stored contents, resulting in the utmost accuracy for temperature reporting. We include a pre-installed 3/8″ probe hole for users who wish to install additional monitoring equipment.
The Summit FS30LMED2 Compact Medical Vaccine Freezer features a 1.8 cu.ft. interior capacity. Two adjustable wire shelves offer convenient storage. It can operate as low at -20ºC, ideal for storing certain vaccines and other sensitive medical contents. This unit has a flat door liner as recommended by the CDC.
All MED2 series units are assembled in the USA from domestic and imported components. The FS30LMED2 can be paired with a matching all-refrigerator (FF28LWHMED2). This unit can also be customized with additional features, including a power-out alarm or USB temperature logger with a digital display. Contact our product specialists to learn more. Products in the MED2 series come with a two year warranty on parts and labor and a five year warranty on the compressor.
*NOTE: This unit’s thermostat is pre-set for Celsius. If you prefer Fahrenheit, add complimentary option DTMEDF or let your sales representative know upon order.
NOTE: Accucold freezers are purpose-built to the support meeting the current CDC (Centers for Disease Control) guidelines for the storage of vaccines. As referenced in the current Vaccine Storage and Handling Toolkit, these units incorporate several key features for stable operation. For additional temperature assurance, the CDC recommends a calibrated digital data logger (DDL), which can be added with the factory-installed option DL2B or addition of the DL2BKit accessory. Select Accucold products have been tested and certified to the new NSF 456 standard, and are now available for purchase. For additional information, contact our products specialists.

Shipping FAQ
How long does shipping take after placing an order?
Estimated dispatch time: typically 3-5 business days when the unit is in stock.
Is international shipping available and what should I consider for Melbourne, Australia?
Yes — international shipping is available. For delivery to Melbourne, Australia, consider:
• Import duties, customs clearance and GST.
• Site access: ensure pathways/doorways/elevators can accommodate approx. 47 cm width × 45 cm depth and allow ~88 cm front clearance for door-opening.
• Electrical compatibility: This model is rated for 115 V AC / 60 Hz (U.S.). For Australia (230 V / 50 Hz) you must order the correct export variant or use a certified step-down transformer installed by a licensed electrician.
How is the unit packaged for transit and what site requirements should be met?
The unit ships boxed and palletized; unpacked footprint approx. 67 cm H × 47 cm W × 45 cm D; door-open depth approx. 88 cm. Ensure the delivery path is level, firm, and clear from vehicle to installation site.
What should I do if my shipment arrives damaged or delayed?
On delivery inspect the outer packaging and unit for visible damage. Photograph any damage, retain packaging and delivery receipt, and contact your supplier promptly with order/tracking details to initiate a freight claim or arrange replacement.
Application FAQ
How do I install and set up the FS30LMED2?
1. Place the unit upright on a firm, level indoor surface in a climate-controlled environment; allow clearance behind/top and approx. 88 cm front for full door swing.
2. Connect to a dedicated grounded outlet appropriate for your ordered voltage variant.
3. Power the unit, let it reach stable internal temperature (typically a few hours) before loading sensitive contents.
What best practices should I follow when using this freezer?
• Place items on the adjustable wire shelves with adequate spacing for airflow; avoid over-packing.
• Label stored items (batch number, date/time) if required and rotate using FIFO where applicable.
• Minimize door-open time; monitor temperature via external control/display rather than frequent access.
• Regularly inspect door gasket/seal, hinges and lock; ensure unit remains level and interior surfaces are clean and frost-free.
What should I do if a temperature excursion or power interruption occurs?
If internal temperature rises above or falls below target (approx. −20 °C to −15 °C) or a power interruption occurs:
• Record date/time, observed temperature and any impacted contents.
• Transfer critical items to validated backup storage until proper conditions return.
• Investigate the root cause (door open, ambient heat load, power or sensor fault).
• Once stable, verify stored items for integrity before resuming standard use.
What maintenance and verification routines are recommended?
• Monthly: Check door gasket/seal, hinges/lock; ensure unit remains level.
• Quarterly: Clean interior/exterior surfaces; verify alarm and probe functions.
• Periodically: Review any logged records (if monitoring installed), verify calibration of monitoring equipment and maintain documented maintenance/service logs for audit-compliance.
