Description
ABS ABT-HC-UCFS-0520 Undercounter Freezer Premier
The ABS ABT-HC-UCFS-0520 Undercounter Freezer Premier features a microprocessor temperature controller and display, allow for precise temperature control, verification and recovery versus mechanical style thermostats. Critical samples and supplies are security backed with an extensive package of audible and visual alarms.
Periodic defrosting is required.
The Freestanding models (“UCFS”) require 4” of clearance around back and sides of the unit for proper ventilation. Improper installation will void the warranty and will lead to temperature maintenance issues, overheating and possible failure.
Environmentally friendly, natural hydrocarbon (HC) refrigerants (not containing hydrofluorocarbons) vastly reduce global-warming potential (GWP) while meeting new EPA/SNAP mandates and UL, ASHRAE compliance guidelines.

Product FAQ
Is this freezer suitable for critical samples?
Yes. As a Premier series unit, it is engineered for laboratory use with a microprocessor temperature controller (operating -15°C to -25°C) that provides precise temperature management and rapid recovery compared to mechanical thermostats.
What are the cooling performance features?
The unit utilizes a manual defrost system to prevent the temperature fluctuations caused by electric defrost heaters, ensuring a stable storage environment for sensitive materials. It includes an alarm package (high/low temperature, sensor error, power failure) and dual probes for monitoring (air and sample-simulated liquid).
Are there specific installation requirements?
Yes. Because this is a freestanding “UCFS” model, it requires at least 4 inches of clearance around the back and sides of the unit to ensure adequate ventilation. Failure to provide this clearance will void the warranty and lead to temperature maintenance issues.
What is the warranty coverage?
It includes a two-year parts and labor warranty, plus an additional three-year compressor parts warranty to ensure long-term, reliable performance.
Shipping FAQ
How is this undercounter freezer shipped?
The unit is shipped via LTL (Less-Than-Truckload) freight, secured on a shipping pallet to ensure it arrives in optimal condition.
Do I need liftgate service?
Yes, liftgate service is highly recommended for any delivery location without a loading dock, as the unit must be safely lowered from the delivery vehicle to ground level.
What are the post-delivery setup steps?
To prevent damage to the compressor and ensure long-term stability, you must allow the unit to sit upright in its final installation location for at least 24 hours to let all fluids settle before powering it on.
