Description
ABS ABT-HC-RFC20A Refrigerator Freezer General Purpose
The ABS ABT-HC-RFC20A Refrigerator Freezer General Purpose units meet and exceed the specifications of most general-purpose units, providing both refrigerator and freezer compartments with standard analog dial temperature thermostats. Units are intended for general purpose applications only where precise temperature control and maintenance are not essential and there are no requirements for temperature alarms.
Auto defrost freezer compartments have programmed defrost cycles that will reach air temperatures of approximately 0 degrees Celsius.
Environmentally friendly, natural hydrocarbon (HC) refrigerants (not containing hydrofluorocarbons) vastly reduce global-warming potential (GWP) while meeting new EPA/SNAP mandates and UL, ASHRAE compliance guidelines.
DISCLAIMER: Auto defrost freezers incorporate an electric heater installed on the evaporator that assist in the removal of the frost and ice. Although the heater helps speed up the frost and ice removal, it can raise the temperatures within the freezer.

Product FAQ
Is this unit suitable for critical sample storage?
No. This unit is intended for general-purpose applications only. It uses standard analog dial thermostats and does not include the high-precision temperature control or independent monitoring and alarm systems required for critical medical or laboratory sample storage.
How does the freezer compartment defrost?
The freezer compartment features an automatic defrost cycle. Please note that this process incorporates an electric heater on the evaporator, which may cause temporary temperature increases within the freezer during the defrost cycle.
What are the temperature ranges?
The refrigerator compartment operates from 0°C to 10°C, and the freezer compartment generally maintains -15°C to -10°C, with automatic defrost cycles that may reach up to 0°C.
What is the warranty coverage?
It comes with a two-year parts and labor warranty, plus an additional three-year compressor parts warranty to ensure reliable, long-term operation for general-purpose use.
Shipping FAQ
How is this refrigerator shipped?
Given the unit’s 20 cu. ft. capacity and physical dimensions, this unit is shipped via LTL (Less-Than-Truckload) freight, secured on a pallet to ensure it arrives in optimal condition.
Do I need liftgate service?
Yes, liftgate service is mandatory unless your facility has a loading dock capable of receiving an 18-wheeler truck, as this unit must be safely lowered to ground level.
What should I inspect upon arrival?
Before signing the delivery receipt, you must thoroughly inspect the unit, focusing on the door seals, exterior finish, and refrigeration housing for any signs of shipping damage.
What are the post-delivery setup steps?
To prevent damage to the compressor and ensure long-term stability, you must allow the unit to sit upright in its final location for at least 24 hours to let all fluids settle before powering it on.
