Summit Vaccine Built-In Healthcare Refrigerator Description:
EQTemp by Accucold introduces a new series of affordable, specialty refrigeration solutions for healthcare facilities seeking specialized cold storage.
Summit ACR52GLHD Vaccine Built-In Healthcare Refrigerator is an upright 3.88 cu.ft. all-refrigerator. It features a clean white exterior and a blue-accented control panel. The glass door is equipped with a self-closing mechanism to help protect stored items from being overexposed to room temperature. A factory-installed lock offers added security, and the hospital-grade cord with a ‘green dot’ plug ensures a secure connection for high-traffic areas. This unit features a front-breathing design for safe built-in installation under counters. The fully finished cabinet also allows freestanding use.
The Summit ACR52GLHD Vaccine Built-In Healthcare Refrigerator includes an external readout of the interior temperature and the high/low temperature. The buffered temperature probe is encased in a bottle filled with glass beads for improved accuracy. The digital temperature controls allow you to set the interior between 2 and 8ºC. An audible alarm sounds if the temperature goes out of range. We also include a pre-installed 3/8″ access port for users to add their own monitoring equipment if preferred.
The interior includes one wire shelf in the center to hold the temperature probe, as well as two additional adjustable shelves to accommodate different sizes. Internal LED lighting provides an efficient and convenient view. Automatic defrost reduces user maintenance, and an internal fan ensures robust temperature recovery after door openings.
This unit ships with a left-hand door swing (for a right-hand version, see model ACR52G). The ACR series is also available certified to the NSF/ANSI 456 Vaccine Storage Standard with the upgrade of a NIST-calibrated temperature readout (see model ACR552GNSF456). Additional sizes are available, as well as more advanced cold storage equipment purpose-built for laboratory and life science storage. Are there unpacking or placement considerations?
Upon delivery, inspect for shipping damage, allow upright settling if the unit was transported on its side, confirm level placement, ensure full door-swing clearance, maintain room around back/side ventilation, and test temperature controls and alarms before loading contents.
What shipping or delivery mode is typical for this unit?
Because of the specialized built-in design, the unit is commonly shipped via pallet freight; confirm receiving path, access, and off-loading staging prior to installation.
Application FAQ
Is this unit suitable for vaccine or pharmaceutical cold-chain storage?
Yes — the ACR52GLHD is purpose-built for healthcare-grade cold-storage and supports the +2 °C to +8 °C temperature range, includes surveillance features and is suitable for clinical/medical environments.
What best practices should be followed for daily operation?
Place a calibrated data logger or min/max thermometer on a representative shelf, label and rotate stored items, avoid over-packing which may block airflow, minimize door-open time and record start-of-day internal temperatures as part of the facility’s protocol.
What maintenance should be performed regularly?
Annually inspect the door-gasket for seal integrity, semi-annually clean condenser or ventilation areas, monthly verify alarm and thermostat functionality, keep the cabinet level and unobstructed, and confirm probe accuracy per schedule.
What should be done in the event of a temperature excursion or alarm?
Document the time, temperature deviation and contents affected; if necessary relocate items to backup storage; investigate root cause (door open, blocked airflow, power interruption); restore set-point stability; and log the corrective action per facility standard operating procedure.
