Summit Appliance Portable Data Logger Description
Accucold offers a range of user-friendly options for versatile and reliable temperature logging in a variety of applications.
The Summit Appliance DLSA11CAL Portable Data Logger is a standalone temperature logger ideal for use when transporting items that need to be monitored. The compact size makes it easy to place in the logged area without compromising storage capacity. The logger includes an LCD screen with a digital display of the temperature to the nearest tenth of a degree, as recommended by the CDC for vaccine storage. You can also view the highest and lowest temperature during the recording period, as well as the average temperature and mean kinetic temperature (a simplified way of showing the overall effect of temperature fluctuation during the recording period). This unit includes a protective transparent case that allows you to view the data without disrupting recording. The DLSA11CAL is calibrated to NIST standards in Accucold’s ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited laboratory. It ships with a calibration certificate for your facility’s records.
Designed for use with Windows-based platforms, the Summit Appliance DLSA11CAL Portable Data Logger includes downloadable software that is easy to program to your specific needs. Users can set the recording interval from every 10 seconds to 24 hours and specify whether to display the temperature in Celsius or Fahrenheit. Users can also choose to set a minimum/maximum temperature alarm that will show a visual indicator alert if the temperature goes out of range. These readings will be color-coded in the data exports for easy analysis. The logger offers an accuracy range of .5ºC in the temperature range of -20 to 40ºC, and 1ºC outside of this range. It records all data to the internal USB drive and can hold up to 32,000 readings. When you’re ready to view your data, simply plug your logger into your computer and open the software in Excel, Adobe Illustrator, or PDF format. From there, you can easily view and export the data in graphical or tabular form. Logging software is included in the downloads on this page.
This portable logger is powered by a replaceable lithium battery. The LCD screen will display a low battery alert as a warning. While battery life varies according to usage, the DLSA11’s battery is generally specified for 12 months when used to record in 15 minute intervals at an average temperature of 25ºC.

Product FAQ
What is the DLSA11CAL Portable Data Logger and what’s it used for?
The DLSA11CAL is a compact, battery-powered temperature data logger designed to monitor cold-chain and storage environments — ideal for vaccines, pharmaceuticals, lab samples, or any application requiring accurate temperature tracking during transport or storage.
What are the key technical specifications?
Key specifications include: accuracy of ±0.5 °C in the range -20 °C to 40 °C (±1 °C outside that range), capacity of up to 32 000 readings, user-set logging intervals (10 s to 24 h), USB interface with downloadable software (exportable as Excel, PDF, or Illustrator file), and LCD display of current, high/low, average, and mean kinetic temperatures. The unit is NIST-calibrated in an ISO/IEC 17025:2017 lab and ships with a calibration certificate.
How is it powered and how long does the battery last?
The unit runs on a replaceable 3.6 V lithium battery. At typical use (15-minute intervals at ~25 °C), battery life is specified at about 12 months. The LCD will display a low-battery alert when it is time to replace.
Is it calibrated and can I get documentation for regulatory compliance?
Yes — the DLSA11CAL is NIST-calibrated in an ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited laboratory and ships with a calibration certificate for your facility’s records.
What environments or temperature ranges can it monitor?
It is designed for a broad range of applications: accurate to ±0.5 °C between -20 °C and 40 °C, and ±1 °C outside that range. It can be used during transport or in storage, and its compact size allows easy placement without significant intrusion.
Shipping FAQ
How long does shipping take after I place my order?
Orders typically ship within 1–2 business days after receipt and order processing. Delivery time then depends on your location and shipping method selected.
Do you ship internationally and what are the restrictions?
Yes — we ship internationally to most regions. International customers are responsible for any customs duties, import taxes, or compliance fees in their country.
How will I track my package once it’s shipped?
Once the order is shipped you’ll receive a confirmation email with tracking details. Use that link to monitor delivery status in real time.
What packaging is used to protect the data logger during transit?
The data logger is shipped in protective packaging (including the transparent protective case) to guard against transit shock, temperature extremes, and handling damage.
What is your policy regarding shipping delays or lost shipments?
If a shipment is delayed beyond the estimated time or goes missing, contact our support team with your order number and tracking info. We will work with the carrier to locate or replace the shipment in accordance with our standard shipping policy.
Application FAQ
How do I set up and program the logger for my application?
Use the included Windows-based software to program logging interval (10 seconds to 24 hours), temperature units (°C or °F), and high/low alarm thresholds. After setup, place the logger in your target environment and allow it to record. Later plug into a USB port to export data.
Which export formats are supported and how do I read the data?
You can export logged data in Excel (.xls/.xlsx), PDF, or graphical format (compatible with Adobe Illustrator). The software also color-codes out-of-range readings for ease of identification.
Can the logger be used in conjunction with other brands or systems?
Yes — the logger is designed for broad compatibility. Because it’s USB-based and exports standard formats, you can incorporate the data into your existing documentation, quality-control systems, or cold-chain monitoring workflows.
How do I use it during transportation of temperature-sensitive items?
Place the logger inside the transport container or adjacent to the product being monitored (e.g., vaccines, pharmaceuticals). The compact size allows minimal intrusion into usable volume. Ensure you capture the full transport event (pre-load, transit, unpack). After arrival, plug into a computer and review logged data for compliance and temperature excursions.
What should I do if the temperature goes outside the set limits during recording?
If the LCD shows the visual alarm indicator (or you later see color-coded out-of-range data), document the event, isolate the affected product if needed, and review the exported data for traceability. Replace or recalibrate the logger if you consistently observe excursions outside its specified accuracy range.
