Summit MOMCUBE Breast Milk Refrigerator Description:
Accucold’s MOMCUBE™ upright all-refrigerators are designed and purpose-built for breast milk storage. All MOMCUBE™ units are laboratory-tested to maintain temperature between 33-40°F, as recommended by the CDC and ideal for maternity wards, hospitals, NICUs, employee wellness rooms complying with Section 4207 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, and other facilities.
The Summit ARS12MLMC MOMCUBE Breast Milk Refrigerator is a 12 cu.ft. all-refrigerator. The microprocessor digital thermostat is located in the top control panel, with an LED display of the interior temperature. The buffered temperature probe is encased in glycol to simulate the temperature of the interior’s contents, while a second sensor measures interior air temperature for added control. Audible and visual alarms alert you to temperature fluctuations. Additional alarms include an open door alarm, power failure alarm, sensor alarm, and remote alarm contacts in the rear, which allow for alarm forwarding to an external remote alarm system. The pre-installed ½ inch probe hole is located in the right interior wall to allow for additional user-supplied monitoring devices. The digital display provides the min/max temperature in Fahrenheit to the nearest tenth of a degree. Users can switch to Celsius in a few simple steps. Temperature parameters are password protected but can be adjusted aftermarket. This unit comes with a hospital grade cord with a green dot plug for added safety in high traffic areas.
Inside, the Summit ARS12MLMC MOMCUBE Breast Milk Refrigerator boasts seven adjustable plastic coated wire shelves for optimal storage flexibility. The forced air cooling system with two internal fans helps to provide temperature uniformity, stability, and quick recovery from door openings. An adjustable cycle defrost system helps to avoid temperature spikes and ice build-up. A soft LED light is included with this unit with an option to turn on/off with a rocker switch. The interior is constructed from white powder coated metal providing added durability and improved temperature retention.
The MOMCUBE™ comes in a white cabinet with blue display panel. The factory-installed antimicrobial handle is powder-coated with naturally occurring silver ions, which help to reduce the spread of germs, allowing for a safer, cleaner user experience. The user-friendly reversible door comes standard in a right-hand swing. Magnetic gaskets ensure a sight seal for improved performance. The factory-installed lock offers additional security.

It is purpose-built for clinical or maternity-ward settings such as NICUs or lactation rooms where secure and compliant storage of expressed human milk is required.
What temperature range and control features does it support?
It maintains an internal storage temperature in the approximately +0.6 °C to +4.4 °C (≈ 33 °F to 40 °F) range, aligned with clinical breast-milk storage recommendations.
Control features include a digital microprocessor thermostat with LED display, a buffered probe designed to reflect actual milk-container temperature, and an additional air-sensor to enhance accuracy.
What alarms, monitoring and security features are included?
Includes audible and visual high/low-temperature alarms, door-ajar alert, power-failure alarm and sensor-fault alarm.
Also features a factory-installed keyed lock for contents security, a pre-installed 12.7 mm (½″) probe access port for external logging, and remote alarm contact outputs for building integration.
What construction and usability features support its clinical application?
Constructed with a self-closing reversible door, antimicrobial silver-ion coated handle, adjustable plastic-coated wire shelving, LED interior lighting, forced-air dual-fan cooling for uniformity, and a sealed-back powder-coated steel cabinet designed for hygiene and ease of cleaning.
Shipping FAQ
What are the exterior dimensions and shipping weight?
Approximate external size: ~157 cm H × ~59 cm W × ~62 cm D.
Typical shipping weight is around ~84 kg (≈ 185 lb).
What electrical and installation requirements apply?
Operates on 115 V AC / 60 Hz, drawing approximately ~1.4 amps.
Requires a dedicated grounded outlet, a level installation surface, full door-swing clearance (≈ 118 cm when open) and unobstructed front-ventilation path.
What steps should be taken during unpacking and placement?
On delivery, inspect for transit damage. If unit was transported on its side, allow it to stand upright for several hours before powering on.
Ensure the unit sits level, confirm door-swing and ventilation clearances, and test the digital controller, alarms and probe port before loading contents.
What delivery or shipping method is typical for this model?
Because of its clinical-grade full-height design, this model typically ships via palletized freight.
Ensure clear receiver access, a stable staging area and level flooring are prepared ahead of delivery.
Application FAQ
Is this unit suitable for breast-milk storage in a clinical setting?
Yes — the ARS12MLMC is specifically designed for expressed human milk storage, supports the required +0.6 °C to +4.4 °C range, and includes the monitoring, alarm and security features necessary for clinical compliance.
What daily best-practice steps should be followed for operation?
Use a calibrated data logger placed at mid-shelf height; label each container or user; rotate stored inventory regularly; avoid over-packing that may restrict airflow; minimize door-open time; and record daily minimum and maximum internal temperature readings and any alarm events.
What routine maintenance is recommended?
Clean the condenser and ventilation paths at least semi-annually; verify alarm, probe and thermostat operation monthly; inspect the door gasket and lock mechanism annually; ensure the unit remains level and airflow paths remain unobstructed.
What should be done in the event of a temperature excursion or alarm?
Document the date, time and temperature deviation as well as any impacted contents; relocate items to approved backup storage if necessary; identify and correct the root cause (e.g., door left open, blocked airflow, power interruption); restore proper conditions before returning contents; and log corrective actions per facility protocol.
