Summit Refrigerator Freezer Description:
Accucold offers innovative solutions to vaccine storage with our Performance Series stackable purpose-built refrigerator-freezer combinations designed to support meeting CDC/VFC guidelines.
Sized just under 20″ wide, the Summit ARS32PVBIADA-AFZ2PVBIADASTACK Refrigerator Freezer combines the 2.83 cu.ft. ARS32PVBIADA auto defrost all-refrigerator with AFZ5PVBIADA all-freezer into one slim footprint using Accucold’s StackRack. This ships in three boxes and requires some minor assembly upon delivery.
The Pharma-Vac Performance Series is designed to meet the demanding needs of vaccine storage. Both units utilize a microprocessor temperature controller (refrigerator range: +2 to +8ºC; freezer range: -30 to -10ºC). The buffered temperature probe is encased in a glycol-filled bottle to better simulate temperature of the stored product, with an additional sensor that reads air temperature to ensure superior temperature control. The current and min/max temperature display is viewable in Celsius or Fahrenheit to the nearest tenth of a degree. The audible and visual temperature alarms sound if the units’ interiors go out of range. Additional alarms include a power failure alert, door open alarm, and sensor failure alarm. Both units are equipped with remote alarm contacts in the rear and a 1/2″ probe port on the right side to accept additional monitoring devices. The factory-installed antimicrobial handles are powder-coated with naturally occurring silver ions, which help to reduce the spread of germs, allowing for a safer, cleaner user experience. A hospital grade cord with ‘green dot’ plug is also included for added safety in high traffic areas.
Inside, the ARS32PVBIADA refrigerator utilizes adjustable cycle defrost operation to avoid temperature spikes. Optimized forced air cooling with an internal fan ensures excellent temperature stability and uniformity with rapid recovery after door openings. The adjustable plastic-coated wire shelves can be positioned at 1/2″ increments to accommodate virtually any sized item. This unit includes LED internal lighting with an on/off rocker switch. The interior is constructed from white powder coated metal to ensure added durability and better temperature retention.
The refrigerator is designed to be stacked on top of the AFZ2PVBIADA, our Performance Series 2.47 cu.ft. all-freezer that utilizes static manual defrost operation. The freezer includes four adjustable plastic-coated wire shelves for flexible storage.
Summit ARS32PVBIADA-AFZ2PVBIADASTACK Refrigerator Freezer include front-mounted keyed locks and powerful magnetic gaskets to ensure a positive seal, with self-closing doors for added protection in high traffic settings. Additional stacked combinations are available. Browse Accucold’s website for more information, or contact our sales team at 718-893-3900 to discuss your equipment needs.
NOTE: Accucold refrigerators are purpose-built to the support meeting the current CDC (Centers for Disease Control) guidelines for the storage of vaccines. As referenced in the current Vaccine Storage and Handling Toolkit, these units incorporate microprocessor controls and forced air circulation for stable operation between 2 and 8ºC. For additional temperature assurance, the CDC recommends a calibrated digital data logger (DDL), which can be added with the factory-installed option DL2B or addition of the DL2BKit accessory.

Product FAQ
What is the ARS32PVBIADA-AFZ2PVBIADASTACK and what is it designed for?
The ARS32PVBIADA-AFZ2PVBIADASTACK is a healthcare-grade stacked refrigerator/freezer combination with a total capacity of approximately 150 L (≈ 5.3 cu ft) and outer dimensions of about 163 cm H × 50 cm W × 57 cm D. It merges one +2 °C to +8 °C refrigerator compartment and one −30 °C to −10 °C freezer compartment into a slim 50 cm width footprint designed for vaccine, medication and clinical cold-chain applications.
What temperature ranges and control features does it support?
It supports dual independent temperature zones: the refrigeration section runs from +2 °C to +8 °C, and the freezer section runs from −30 °C to −10 °C. Both zones use digital microprocessor controllers, external displays for current/min-max readings, and buffered probes to simulate stored-product temperature for improved accuracy.
What alarms, monitoring and security features are included?
This model includes audible and visual high/low-temperature alarms, door-ajar alerts, power-failure alarms, sensor-fault alarms, remote alarm contact outputs, dedicated probe ports for external monitoring, and factory-installed keyed locks for secure access.
What construction and usability features support its healthcare application?
The unit features front-breathing ventilation suitable for built-in or freestanding use, self-closing doors, adjustable wire shelving in each compartment, LED interior lighting, sealed-back white-powder-coated steel cabinet for hygiene, and eco-friendly hydrocarbon refrigerants for lower environmental impact.
Shipping FAQ
What are the exterior dimensions and shipping weight?
Approximate external size: ~163 cm H × ~50 cm W × ~57 cm D; shipping weight approximately ~132 kg (≈ 290 lb).
What electrical and installation requirements apply?
Operates on 115 V AC / 60 Hz. Requires a dedicated grounded outlet, a level installation surface, full door-swing clearance (~105 cm when door opens 90°) and proper front intake/exhaust ventilation if built-in.
What steps should be taken during unpacking and placement?
Inspect the unit upon delivery for visible transit damage; if transported on its side allow it to remain upright for several hours before powering; ensure the cabinet is level; maintain door-swing and ventilation clearance; test both compartment controllers, alarms and probe ports before loading contents.
What delivery method is typical for this model?
Because this is a professional stacked cold-chain unit, it typically ships via palletized freight. Ensure clear access for off-loading, a stable staging area, and a level installation surface before delivery.
Application FAQ
Is this unit suitable for vaccine or pharmaceutical cold-chain storage?
Yes — the ARS32PVBIADA-AFZ2PVBIADASTACK is purpose-built for vaccine and medication storage, combining the required +2 °C to +8 °C refrigeration zone and −30 °C to −10 °C freezer zone, and including monitoring, alarm and security features aligned with clinical-grade standards.
What daily best practices should be followed for operation?
Use a calibrated data logger in each compartment at mid-shelf height; label and rotate stored inventory regularly; avoid over-packing shelves which may restrict airflow; minimize door-open time; and record internal temperature readings each day as part of facility protocol.
What routine maintenance is recommended?
Clean the condenser and ventilation paths semi-annually; verify alarm, probe and thermostat performance monthly (or as per facility schedule); inspect door-gasket seals annually; ensure the unit remains level and both compartments have unobstructed airflow.
What should be done in the event of a temperature excursion or alarm?
Document the event time and temperature deviation, note which compartment and contents were impacted; relocate items to approved backup storage if required; identify and correct the root cause (e.g., door ajar, blocked airflow, power interruption); restore proper conditions and log corrective actions according to facility SOP.
