Product FAQ
What is the BKRF1088WLHD and what’s it used for?
The BKRF1088WLHD is a 10.1 cu ft (≈ 286 L) top-freezer/bottom-refrigerator unit designed for clinic or break-room use in institutional settings, offering combined freezer + fridge storage in a slim 24″-wide format.
What are its key technical specifications?
It measures approximately 61.88″ H × 23.25″ W × 26.5″ D (≈ 157 cm × 59 cm × 67 cm), features frost-free operation, digital thermostat plus two externally mounted high/low alarms, adjustable glass shelves, crisper drawers, can racks, and gallon-door storage.
What safety and monitoring features are included?
Includes two NIST-calibrated thermometers with audible alarms for both refrigerator and freezer sections, audible high/low alerts, factory-installed lock option, sealed-back cabinet for easier cleaning, and 33 dB sound rating for quieter institutional environments.
What environments is this unit best suited for?
Ideal for clinic staff break rooms, wellness centers, small labs or shared spaces within medical or institutional settings where combined refrigeration plus freezing is required with reliable monitoring and compact footprint.
Shipping FAQ
What are the shipping dimensions and weight?
The unit ships at approximately 117 lbs (≈ 53 kg); transport typically requires pallet-freight due to height (~157 cm) and depth (~67 cm).
What power and installation requirements apply?
Operates on 115 V AC / 60 Hz, draws about 1.5 amps; dedicated grounded outlet recommended; level placement and rear clearance advised for performance and service access.
Are there installation or placement considerations?
Ensure full door-swing clearance (approx 48″/122 cm when open), maintain rear clearance for ventilation, inspect packaging at delivery for damage, and level the unit to maintain door seal and temperature uniformity.
What unpacking or startup procedures should be followed?
Inspect for shipping damage, allow the unit to sit upright if it was transported horizontally, plug in after level placement, verify thermostat and alarm functions before loading sensitive contents, and allow interior to stabilize before full use.
Application FAQ
Is this unit suitable for institutional or medical usage?
Yes — the BKRF1088WLHD is built for break-room or shared-area cold-storage in clinic and institutional environments, combining freezer and fridge compartments with monitoring features appropriate for such uses.
What best practices should I follow for daily use?
Place a min/max thermometer or data-logger in each compartment, label stored contents for rotation, avoid over-packing which restricts airflow, minimize door-open times, and record start-of-day temperatures per your protocol.
What maintenance should be performed regularly?
Check the door gaskets annually for seal integrity, clean condenser air path and coils periodically, verify thermostat and high/low alarm performance monthly, keep the unit level, and ensure rear ventilation is not blocked.
What do I do if a temperature alarm or excursion occurs?
Document time, temperature deviation, and contents; relocate items to backup storage if required; review door seal, airflow and power issues; restore normal conditions; and record the event in monitoring logs for audit.
