Summit Compact Medical Refrigerator Description:
The Summit FF28LWHPLUS2 Compact Medical Refrigerator is a 2.4 cu.ft. all-refrigerator with a compact footprint for countertop use. It comes in a white finish with a locking door that includes a thermometer calibrated to NIST standards in our ISO/IEC 17025:2017 laboratory. It displays the current, minimum, and maximum temperature to the nearest tenth degree viewable in Celsius or Fahrenheit. The buffered temperature probe is stored in a glycol-filled bottle to ensure the temperature reading best reflects the temperature of other stored refrigerator contents.
Inside, the Summit FF28LWHPLUS2 Compact Medical Refrigerator utilizes an automatic defrost system for low maintenance use. Fan-forced cooling helps to stabilize the interior, with a fixed full-width wire shelf for convenient storage and a removable half shelf that can be positioned above the compressor step. This unit has a flat door liner as recommended by the CDC. A digital thermostat is located inside for convenient and precise temperature management.
The Summit FF28LWHPLUS2 Compact Medical Refrigerator can be customized with additional features, including USB data loggers and access ports. For more information, contact our sales team.
Accucold’s PLUS2 series refrigerators are intended for a wide variety of basic storage only. Storage of high-value vaccines, life science materials, medical, or clinical biologicals require a product with design features including, but not limited to tighter temperature controls, monitoring, and/or back-up.
*NOTE: This unit’s thermostat is pre-set for Celsius. If you prefer Fahrenheit, add complimentary option DTMEDF or let your sales representative know upon order.

Product FAQ
What is the FF28LWHPLUS2 and what is it used for?
The FF28LWHPLUS2 is a 2.4 cu ft (~68 L) compact countertop medical-grade refrigerator designed for clinics, laboratories or pharmacy environments requiring a controlled +2 °C to +8 °C range in a small footprint.
What are the key technical specifications?
• Capacity: 2.4 cu ft (~68 L)
• External dimensions: Height ~63 cm, Width ~47 cm, Depth ~45 cm; door-open depth ~88 cm
• Temperature range: +2 °C to +8 °C
• Defrost type: Automatic
• Interior: Full-width fixed wire shelf plus a removable half shelf, flat door liner for hygiene
• Security/monitoring: Factory-installed lock, NIST-calibrated thermometer display with high/low and current temperature readings, fan-assisted cooling
• Electrical (U.S. model): 115 V AC / 60 Hz; draws ~0.7 amps
What safety and security features are included?
Features include:
– Keyed door lock to restrict access
– Digital thermometer with high/low alarm display
– Magnetic door gasket and foamed-in-place insulation for temperature stability
– Fan-forced interior to ensure uniform cooling
Which environments is this unit best suited for?
Ideal for medical offices, pharmacy counters, laboratory benches or satellite storage areas where compact +2 °C to +8 °C refrigeration is required in limited space. Not intended for ultra-low (≤ –20 °C) or large-capacity freezer applications.
Shipping FAQ
How long does shipping take after placing an order?
Typical lead time is approximately 5-7 business days when the unit is in stock.
Is international shipping available and what should I consider for Melbourne, Australia?
Yes — international shipping is available. For delivery to Melbourne, Australia consider:
• Import duties, customs clearance and GST.
• Site access: Ensure doorways, elevators or hallways can accommodate ~47 cm width × ~45 cm depth and allow ~88 cm front clearance for full door swing.
• Electrical compatibility: The standard version is 115 V AC / 60 Hz; for Australia (230 V / 50 Hz) you must order the correct export variant or use a certified step-down transformer installed by a licensed electrician.
How is the unit packaged for transit and what site requirements should be met?
Ships boxed and palletized; unpacked footprint approximately 63 cm H × 47 cm W × 45 cm D; door-open depth ~88 cm. Ensure a clear, level path from the delivery vehicle to the installation site.
What should I do if my shipment arrives damaged or is delayed?
Inspect the outer packaging and unit on delivery for visible damage. Photograph any damage, keep the packaging and delivery receipt, and contact your supplier with your order/tracking details to initiate a freight claim or arrange replacement.
Application FAQ
How do I install and set up the FF28LWHPLUS2?
1. Place the unit on a firm, level indoor surface or countertop in a climate-controlled area; allow adequate clearance behind/top and approx. 88 cm front for full door opening.
2. Connect to a dedicated grounded outlet matching the model’s voltage rating.
3. Power on the unit, set the digital thermostat to within the +2 °C to +8 °C range, and allow 2-4 hours for internal temperature stabilization before loading sensitive materials.
What best practices should I follow when using this refrigerator?
• Store items with spacing on the wire shelf to allow airflow; avoid over-packing.
• Label stored materials with batch number and date/time; use first-in, first-out (FIFO) rotation when applicable.
• Minimize door-open events; monitor via the external thermometer and alarm rather than frequent access.
• Regularly check door gasket/seal, hinges, and lock mechanism; ensure the unit remains level and interior surfaces are clean.
What should I do if a temperature excursion or power interruption occurs?
If the internal temperature rises above or falls below the +2 °C to +8 °C range, or a power interruption occurs:
• Record the event: date/time, observed temperature deviation and impacted contents.
• Transfer critical items to validated backup refrigeration until stable conditions return.
• Investigate root cause (door left open, ambient load spike, power/sensor fault).
• Once the unit stabilizes within the target range and remains stable, inspect stored contents for integrity before resuming standard use.
What maintenance and verification routines are recommended?
• Monthly: Inspect door gasket/seal, hinges and lock; ensure the unit remains level.
• Quarterly: Clean interior and exterior surfaces; verify thermostat, thermometer/alarm function and monitoring ports.
• Periodically: Review any temperature logs or external monitoring data (if used), confirm calibration of monitoring equipment, and keep documented maintenance/service records for audit compliance.
