Description
Summit Compact Medical Vaccine Refrigerator Description:
The Accucold® VAC Series refrigerators are specially designed to store sensitive medical and pharmaceutical materials under the proper conditions, with innovative construction for temperature stability and user-friendly features for added convenience.
Sized for use on top of counters, the Summit FF28LWHVAC Compact Medical Vaccine Refrigerator is a compact all-refrigerator with automatic defrost operation. Fan-forced cooling helps to maintain even temperature distribution throughout the interior, ensuring the refrigerator stays within 2ºC of desired temperature and maximizing the usable storage space inside. The interior includes two drop-down covers that shield stored contents from being exposed to room temperature when the door is open. As recommended by the CDC for vaccine storage, this unit has a flat interior door liner.
The Summit FF28LWHVAC Compact Medical Vaccine Refrigerator includes a factory installed front lock for added security. The self-closing door is an ideal feature for lab or medical settings, helping to protect valuable samples and vaccines when a busy staff may not always have time to ensure a tight seal. The hospital grade ‘green dot’ cord offers added safety in high-traffic locations.
For temperature precision, the FF28LWHVAC includes a digital thermostat. A high/low temperature alarm sends an audible alert if the unit is out of set range, while also displaying a NIST calibrated temperature readout to the nearest tenth of a degree. A pre-installed probe hole/access port allows users to install additional monitoring equipment.
In addition to the standard features of the VAC line, the FF28LWHVAC can be further customized to your exact specifications. Additional options include temperature loggers, open door alarms, and more. For more information, call our office to discuss your complete medical refrigeration needs with our sales team.
NOTE: Accucold refrigerators are purpose-built to the support meeting the current CDC (Centers for Disease Control) guidelines for the storage of vaccines. At this time, Accucold refrigerators have not been evaluated to the new NSF 456 standard. As referenced in the current Vaccine Storage and Handling Toolkit, these units incorporate microprocessor controls and forced air circulation for stable operation between 2 and 8ºC. For additional temperature assurance, the CDC recommends a calibrated digital data logger (DDL), which can be added with the factory-installed option DL2B or addition of the DL2BKit accessory.

Product FAQ
What is the FF28LWHVAC and what is it used for?
The FF28LWHVAC is a compact all-refrigerator (~0.8 cu ft / ~23 L) designed for vaccine and medical storage use. It fits easily on a countertop and provides a precise +2 °C to +8 °C environment with features tailored for regulated clinical settings.
What are the key technical specifications?
• Capacity: ~0.8 cu ft (~23 L)
• External dimensions: Approx. Height ~62 cm, Width ~47 cm, Depth ~45 cm; door-open depth approx. 88 cm
• Temperature range: +2 °C to +8 °C
• Defrost type: Automatic
• Interior: Fan-cooled for uniform temperature, includes shelving and drop-down covers to protect contents when door opens
• Security/monitoring: Factory-installed keyed lock, digital thermostat with high/low alarm, access port for external monitoring probe
• Electrical: 115 V AC / 60 Hz, approx. 0.7 amps
What safety and security features are included?
Features include:
– Keyed lock to restrict access
– Audible high/low temperature alarm and digital read-out to monitor stability
– Self-closing door with magnetic gasket to prevent inadvertent exposure
– Flat door liner and insulated cabinet for compliance with vaccine-storage guidelines
Which environments is this unit best suited for?
Ideal for immunization clinics, pharmacy counters, medical labs or healthcare settings where compact, reliable +2 °C to +8 °C refrigerated storage is needed. Not intended for ultra-low (≤ -20 °C) or freezing storage without separate validation.
Shipping FAQ
How long does shipping take after placing an order?
Typical lead time: about 5–7 business days when the unit is in stock.
Is international shipping available and what should I consider for Melbourne, Australia?
Yes — international shipping is available. For delivery to Melbourne consider:
• Import duties, customs clearance and GST.
• Site access: ensure doorways or elevators comply with approx. 47 cm width × 45 cm depth and allow front clearance of ~88 cm for full door opening.
• Electrical compatibility: The US model uses 115 V AC / 60 Hz—if installing in Australia (230 V / 50 Hz) order the correct export variant or use a certified step-down transformer.
How is the unit packaged for transit and what site requirements should be met?
Ships boxed and palletized; unpacked footprint approx. 62 cm H × 47 cm W × 45 cm D; door-open depth ~88 cm. Delivery path must be level, firm and clear from vehicle to final install site.
What should I do if my shipment arrives damaged or delayed?
On delivery inspect the outer packaging and unit. Photograph any damage, retain the packaging and delivery receipt, and contact your supplier with your order/tracking details to initiate a freight claim or arrange replacement.
Application FAQ
How do I install and set up the FF28LWHVAC?
1. Place the unit upright on a firm, level indoor surface or countertop in a climate-controlled area; allow clearance behind/top and approx. 88 cm front clearance for the door.
2. Connect to a dedicated grounded outlet matching your region’s voltage.
3. Power on the unit, set the digital controller to +2 °C to +8 °C and allow 2–4 hours for internal temperature stabilization before loading vaccines or medications.
What best practices should I follow when using this refrigerator?
• Arrange items with spacing on the shelf(s) to allow airflow; avoid over-packing.
• Label stored items (batch number, date/time) and follow first-in/first-out (FIFO) rotation when required.
• Minimize door-opening times; rely on the external display and alarm rather than frequent access.
• Regularly inspect the door gasket/seal, hinges and lock mechanism; ensure the unit remains level and clean the interior surfaces.
What should I do if a temperature excursion or power interruption occurs?
If the internal temperature rises above or falls below +2 °C to +8 °C or a power interruption happens:
• Record date/time, observed temperature deviation and impacted contents.
• Transfer critical items to validated backup refrigeration until conditions stabilize.
• Investigate cause (door left open, ambient heat load, power/sensor fault).
• Once stable, inspect contents for integrity before resuming normal use.
What maintenance and verification routines are recommended?
• Monthly: Inspect door gasket/seal, hinges/lock; check unit remains level.
• Quarterly: Clean interior and exterior surfaces; verify alarm and monitoring probe port function.
• Periodically: Review any logged temperature data (if external monitoring is used), confirm calibration of monitoring devices, and maintain documented service/maintenance records for audit-compliance.
