Product FAQ
What is the FFAR23L and what’s it used for?
The FFAR23L is a compact all-refrigerator with approximately 1.7 cu ft (≈ 48 L) of storage, designed for countertop or benchtop placement in medical, laboratory or institutional settings where a small-footprint secure refrigeration unit is needed.
What are the key technical specifications?
It measures approximately 20.75″ H × 18.75″ W × 17.5″ D (≈ 53 cm × 48 cm × 44 cm), features automatic defrost, one adjustable wire shelf, sealed back design for cleanability, a front-mounted lock (two keys included), LED interior light, and runs on 115 V AC / 60 Hz.
What safety and security features are included?
Includes factory-installed keyed front lock, hospital-grade “green dot” plug for high-traffic environments, flat door liner to allow deeper storage and reduce hotspots, reversible door is not supported (right-hand only), and compact sealed back for space efficiency.
Which environments is this refrigerator best suited for?
Ideal for clinics, lactation rooms, wellness facilities, small laboratories, or any space-challenged environment requiring reliable, secure cold storage rather than full-scale laboratory cold chain.
Shipping FAQ
What is the shipping weight and footprint?
The unit ships at approximately 36 lbs (≈ 16 kg) and fits standard compact-unit freight or parcel delivery profiles.
What power and installation requirements apply?
Operates on 115 V AC / 60 Hz with about 1 amp draw. A grounded outlet is recommended; avoid extension cords in institutional settings. Level placement and rear clearance for ventilation should be maintained.
Are there specific receiving or placement considerations?
Yes. Inspect packaging on arrival for damage, allow the unit to sit upright after transport if required by manufacturer, ensure ventilation paths are clear and avoid over-packing the interior that may obstruct airflow.
Application FAQ
Is this suitable for institutional or clinical use?
While not intended for high-value biologics without added monitoring, it is well-suited for general-purpose institutional storage in wellness rooms, employee break-areas, or ancillary medical storage where secure refrigeration is important.
What are recommended best practices for daily use?
Keep the removable wire shelf positioned to allow airflow, label stored contents clearly, install a min/max thermometer or data-logger on a central shelf, close the door promptly after access, and record start-of-day temperatures per facility protocol.
What maintenance should be performed regularly?
Check and clean the door gasket annually, ensure interior light and shelf functionality, keep the unit level and free of dust, verify thermostat operation periodically, and clear the back for ventilation access.
