Accucold brings advanced convenience to on-the-go vaccine refrigeration with the SPRF11, a fully featured portable refrigerator/freezer ideal for transporting sensitive materials while maintaining the integrity of the cold chain.
This extremely lightweight cooler is sized at just 16″ W x 14″ D, with a sturdy pull-up handle to ensure the unit can comfortably be carried with one hand. We include a 12/24V DC cord to power the unit via a vehicle’s auxiliary outlet/lighter socket, as well as a 110V power adapter for use in standard wall outlets.
The Summit SPRF11 General Medical Portable Refrigerator Freezer can be used as a refrigerator or freezer, with a wide temperature range that can be adjusted between -20ºC and +20ºC, ensuring vaccines can be stored at the recommended 2 to 8ºC range. The external control panel offers easy and intuitive operation and allows you to adjust the temperature without opening the lid and exposing stored items to ambient temperature. This unit is also equipped with a heating function that lets you set the interior at +50ºC, a useful feature for warming compression packs.
With its user-friendly portable design, the SPRF11 is a great solution for traveling nurses, off-site vaccination clinics, sample collection, environmental agencies, and other applications that require temperature stability while in transit.
NOTE: Accucold refrigerators are purpose-built to the support meeting the current CDC (Centers for Disease Control) guidelines for the storage of vaccines. At this time, Accucold refrigerators have not been evaluated to the new NSF 456 standard. For additional temperature assurance, the CDC recommends a calibrated digital data logger (DDL), which can be added with the purchase of a DLSA11CAL accessory.

Product FAQ
What is the SPRF11 and what is it used for?
The SPRF11 is a portable, compact refrigerator/freezer unit (~0.35 cu ft / ~10 L) designed for mobile clinic, outreach, or cold-chain applications. It supports vehicle-based or wall-plug power and allows storage of sensitive items (e.g., vaccines, samples) while on the move.
What are its key technical specifications?
• Capacity: 0.35 cu ft (~10 L)
• Dimensions: Height ≈ 29 cm (11.25″), Width ≈ 41 cm (16″), Depth ≈ 36 cm (14″)
• Temperature range: Can operate as a refrigerator at +2 °C to +8 °C, or as a freezer down to –20 °C (and also up to +20 °C in some modes)
• Power options: 12 V or 24 V DC vehicle hookup **and** AC adapter for 110-120 V wall use.
• Weight: approx. 7 kg (~16 lbs).
• Defrost type: Manual.
What safety or monitoring features are included?
Features include a digital thermostat with external control panel (so you can set temperature without opening lid), a handle for easy portability, vehicle/DC compatibility, and a “heating” mode (for example to warm compression packs to ~+50 °C) in some variants.
Which environments is this unit best suited for?
Ideal for mobile vaccination clinics, sample transport, outreach health teams, or any scenario requiring secure, portable cold-chain refrigeration/freezer. *Not suited for ultra-low biological sample storage (< –80 °C) unless separately validated.*
What warranty coverage is provided?
Manufacturer warranty: 1 year parts & labor; 5 years compressor parts.
Shipping FAQ
How long does shipping take after placing an order?
Typical lead time: 3-5 business days dispatch when in stock (for U.S. domestic). International transit will vary by destination.
Is international shipping available and what should I consider for Melbourne, Australia?
Yes — international shipping is possible. For delivery to Melbourne, Australia consider:
• Import duties and customs clearance including Goods & Services Tax (GST).
• Accessibility: ensure corridor/doorway clearance, as the unit is approx. 41 cm wide × 36 cm deep; verify vehicle/freight access.
• Power compatibility: This model supports 12/24 V DC and 110-120 V AC (US spec). For Australia (230 V/50 Hz) ensure correct variant or adapt accordingly (transformer/adapter).
How is the unit packaged for transit and what site requirements should be met?
The unit ships as a self-contained portable unit (~7 kg), boxed/palletized depending on volume. Ensure delivery area is level, has adequate clearance for handling, and that the receiving site can move the unit from vehicle to final placement.
What should I do if my shipment arrives damaged or is delayed?
On delivery inspect the packaging and unit for visible damage or transit impacts. If damage is present: photograph condition, retain packaging and delivery documentation, then contact your supplier with order/tracking details to initiate a freight claim or replacement.
Application FAQ
How do I install and set up the SPRF11?
1. Place the unit upright on a firm, level surface in a vehicle, clinic or other indoor space.
2. Connect power: to a vehicle 12 V/24 V outlet **or** AC plug into a 110-120 V wall socket (verify correct variant for your region).
3. Turn on the unit, set the digital thermostat to your target temperature (for refrigerator mode +2 °C to +8 °C; for freezer mode down to –20 °C), and allow the interior to stabilize before loading contents.
4. Ensure the external control panel functions, the handle and portability features are intact, and that no airflow obstruction occurs inside the insulated chamber.
What best practices should I follow when using this unit?
• Avoid blocking the lid or reducing airflow by over-packing contents; leave space around items for efficient cooling.
• Label stored items (date/time, contents) for traceability; if transporting vaccines or samples rotate stock as needed.
• Minimize lid openings to reduce temperature fluctuations; use external control display to verify internal conditions without opening when possible.
What should I do if a temperature excursion or power interruption occurs?
If internal temperature moves outside the target range or a power interruption occurs:
• Record the event: date/time, observed temperature, impacted contents.
• Relocate critical items to validated backup storage if required.
• Investigate potential cause (lid open too long, ambient heat load, power disruption).
• Once the unit returns to stable conditions and internal temperature is within the acceptable range, verify contents before returning them to routine storage.
What maintenance and verification routines are recommended?
• Monthly: Inspect lid gasket/seal, handle integrity and ensure unit remains level and stable.
• Quarterly: Clean external fans/vents (if present), ensure no dust or debris buildup, verify digital thermostat panel functions correctly.
• Periodically: Maintain logs of minimum/maximum internal temperatures, calibration or verification of thermostat if required, and service records for audit or quality compliance.
