Summit Commercial Reach-In All Freezer Description:
Summit Commercial’s line of reach-in refrigeration features durable construction built to NSF-7 commercial standards.
Made in South Korea, the Summit SCFF497 Commercial 49 cu.ft. Reach-In All Freezer is a two-door commercial all-freezer with a complete stainless steel cabinet. The stainless steel doors feature a self-closing design to help protect stored contents in busy commercial settings where customers may not take the time to make sure the doors are closed. They will remain open when pushed to 90º, making it easier to load and unload the unit. The sealed back design helps to simplify cleanup. This unit features a factory-installed lock located towards the top of the door for convenient security. We include a set of locking casters for optional installation.
The Summit SCFF497 Commercial 49 cu.ft. Reach-In All Freezer features a large 49 cu.ft. interior constructed from stainless steel for easy cleanup and lasting durability. The cantilevered shelving system allows you to adjust the four vinyl-coated shelves to virtually any position, making it easy to accommodate any sized item. This unit is designed to fit common commercial baking trays. The LED lighting offers an energy efficient display when the door is opened. This unit utilizes adjustable cycle defrost operation to avoid temperature spikes, with a top-mounted forced air cooling system to ensure rapid temperature recovery.
To ensure optimum storage conditions, the SCFF497 is equipped with a microprocessor temperature controller that makes it easy for staff to adjust the temperature. The large digital LED readout displays the current and high/low temperatures in Celsius or Fahrenheit. An audible and visual temperature alarm sounds if the unit rises or falls above a user-set range. Additional alarms include a power failure alert, door open alarm, and a condenser cleaning reminder.
Designed with hydrocarbon refrigerant, the SCFF497 provides an energy efficient solution to large capacity storage. It is ETL-S listed to NSF-7 commercial standards. For a matching refrigerator, see the SCRR492.

Product FAQ
What is the SCFF497 and what is it used for?
The SCFF497 is a large-capacity commercial upright reach-in all-freezer (~49 cu ft / ~1388 L) designed for high-volume cold-storage in commercial kitchens, labs, clinics or other demanding environments.
What are the key technical specifications?
• Capacity: 49.0 cu ft (~1388 L).
• Dimensions (HxWxD): 83.75″ (~213 cm) H × 55.25″ (~140 cm) W × 31.0″ (~79 cm) D. Depth with doors open ~56.5″ (~144 cm) for loading clearance.
• Defrost type: Frost-free automatic cycle.
• Construction: Fully stainless-steel inside and out for easy sanitation and durability.
• Electrical: 115 V AC/60 Hz, approx. 10.5 Amps.
• Weight: ~428 lb (~194 kg).
What safety and monitoring features are included?
Features include:
• Visual & audible alarms for high/low temperature, door-open condition, power failure.
• Self-closing doors (with stay-open at 90° for loading) to reduce energy loss but accommodate loading volume.
• Microprocessor control panel with LED readout showing current/ min-max temperatures in Celsius or Fahrenheit.
• Factory-installed lock and heavy-duty wire shelves with adjustable positions.
Which environments is this unit best suited for?
Ideal for commercial food service, hospitality, clinic service zones or any facility needing large-volume freezer storage with reliable performance. Not designed for ultra-low temperature biological sample storage unless specifically validated for that use.

Shipping FAQ
How long does shipping take after placing an order?
The shipping lead time depends on stock availability and destination; when in stock dispatch is often within a few business days. Transit time will depend on the carrier and destination.
Is international shipping available and what should I consider for Melbourne, Australia?
Yes — international shipping can be arranged. For delivery to Melbourne, Australia you should consider:
• Import duties, customs clearance including GST.
• Freight access: verify doorway width, corridor/elevator clearance, and floor-loading capacity for the palletized unit (weight ~194 kg).
• Electrical compatibility: this model is specified for 115 V AC/60 Hz (U.S. specification) — if installing in Australia (230 V/50 Hz), you must either order a correct local variant or arrange a suitable step-down transformer and ensure plug type and compliance.
How is the unit packaged for transit and what site requirements should be met?
The unit ships palletized with protective packaging. Approx. unpacked footprint: ~213 cm H × ~140 cm W × ~79 cm D; allow extra depth (~144 cm) for door-open clearance. Delivery site should have a firm, level surface, adequate entry/door clearance and handling equipment (pallet jack, lift) if required.
What should I do if my shipment arrives damaged or is delayed?
Upon delivery inspect the packaging and unit for visible damage or indications of delayed transit. If damage is found: photograph condition, retain the packaging and delivery receipt, and contact your supplier with your order/tracking details to initiate a freight claim or replacement.
Application FAQ
How do I install and set up the SCFF497?
1. Position the freezer upright on a firm, level surface in a climate-controlled indoor environment; allow for full ventilation clearance behind and above the unit and ensure door-open clearance (~144 cm).
2. Connect to a dedicated grounded electrical outlet matching the specification (115 V AC/60 Hz). If installing in Australia, verify correct voltage/plug variant or use a suitable converter.
3. Plug in and power on the unit; set the digital control panel to your desired freezer temperature (note: factory range is approximately -10 °F to +25 °F (~-23 °C to -4 °C) as per specifications).
4. Verify the alarm functions (door-open, high/low temperature), the lock mechanism, shelves are installed properly, and airflow is unobstructed before loading contents.
What best practices should I follow when using this freezer?
• Load contents keeping a reasonable space around shelving to allow forced-air circulation and avoid over-packing which impairs performance.
• Minimize door open time; use self-closing door feature effectively to maintain internal temperature and reduce energy loss.
• Label stored items, implement first-in/first-out rotation if relevant, and keep records of internal temperature min/max if required for audit compliance.
What should I do if a temperature excursion or power interruption occurs?
If internal temperature moves outside the specified range or if a power interruption occurs:
• Record the event: date/time, recorded temperature, and impacted contents.
• Immediately relocate critical items to validated backup storage until temperature stabilizes.
• Investigate potential causes (door left open, ambient heat load, sensor/power fault).
• Once the unit returns to stable operating conditions and internal temperature is within range, verify contents’ condition before returning to routine storage.
What maintenance and verification routines are recommended?
• Monthly: Inspect door gasket/seal, hinges/latch mechanism, lock function, and ensure unit remains level and structurally sound.
• Quarterly: Clean condenser/coil area and ventilation paths, ensure fan operation is unobstructed, remove dust or debris accumulation.
• Periodically: Confirm digital controller, alarms and display readouts are functioning correctly, maintain internal logs of temperatures, servicing and any alarms for audit readiness.
