Description
ABS ABT-HC-RFC-15A Refrigerator Freezer General Purpose
The ABS ABT-HC-RFC-15A Refrigerator Freezer General Purpose Dual Temperature units 14 Cu. Ft. Hydrocarbon, 2 Exterior Solid Doors, Auto Defrost meets and exceeds the specifications of most general-purpose units and provides both refrigerator and freezer compartments and are provided with standard analog dial temperature thermostats. Units are intended for general purpose applications only where precise temperature control and maintenance are not essential and there are no requirements for temperature alarms.
Models with auto defrost freezer compartments have programmed defrost cycles that will reach air temperatures of approximately 0 degrees Celsius.
Environmentally friendly, natural hydrocarbon (HC) refrigerants (not containing hydrofluorocarbons) vastly reduce global-warming potential (GWP) while meeting new EPA/SNAP mandates and UL, ASHRAE compliance guidelines.
DISCLAIMER: Auto defrost freezers incorporate an electric heater installed on the evaporator that assist in the removal of the frost and ice. Although the heater helps speed up the frost and ice removal, it can raise the temperatures within the freezer.

Product FAQ
Is this combination unit suitable for critical sample storage?
This unit is designed as a medical-grade, general-purpose refrigerator-freezer combination. It provides reliable performance for basic storage needs but does not offer the advanced high-precision controls or automated monitoring systems found in our specialized “Premier” series.
How does the freezer compartment defrost?
The freezer compartment features an automatic defrost cycle. Please note that this process uses an internal heater to manage ice buildup, which can cause temporary temperature increases within the freezer compartment during the active cycle.
What are the temperature characteristics?
The refrigerator and freezer compartments maintain stable temperatures suitable for general-purpose medical or laboratory storage.
What is the warranty coverage?
It includes a standard two-year parts and labor warranty, plus an additional three-year compressor parts warranty for reliable, long-term operation.
Shipping FAQ
How is this refrigerator/freezer combination shipped?
The unit is shipped via LTL (Less-Than-Truckload) freight, secured on a pallet to ensure it arrives in optimal condition.
Do I need liftgate service?
Yes, liftgate service is mandatory unless your facility has a loading dock capable of receiving an 18-wheeler, as the unit must be safely lowered from the delivery vehicle to ground level.
What should I inspect upon arrival?
Before signing the delivery receipt, you must thoroughly inspect the unit, focusing on the exterior panels, door seals, and the refrigeration housing for any signs of shipping damage.
What are the post-delivery setup steps?
To prevent damage to the compressor and ensure long-term stability, you must allow the unit to sit upright in its final location for at least 24 hours to let all fluids settle before powering it on.
