Summit Vaccine Refrigerator Freezer Description:
Accucold offers innovative solutions to vaccine storage with stackable purpose-built refrigerator-freezer combinations design to support meeting CDC/VFC guidelines.
Sized just under 24″ wide, the ARS12PV-FS24LSTACKMED2 combines the 12 cu.ft. ARS12PV auto defrost all-refrigerator with the compact FS24LMED2 all-freezer into one slim footprint using Accucold’s StackRack. This ships in three boxes and requires some minor assembly upon delivery.
Refrigerator Summit ARS12PV-FS24LSTACKMED2 Vaccine Refrigerator Freezer is part of Accucold’s Pharma-Vac Performance Series, designed to meet the demanding needs of vaccine storage. It utilizes a microprocessor temperature controller with an adjustable control range from +2 to +8ºC. The buffered temperature probe is encased in a glycol-filled bottle to better simulate temperature of the stored product, with an additional sensor that reads air temperature to ensure superior temperature control. The current and min/max temperature display is viewable in Celsius or Fahrenheit to the nearest tenth of a degree. The audible and visual temperature alarm sounds if the unit’s interior goes out of range. Additional alarms include a power failure alert, door open alarm, and sensor failure alarm. This unit is equipped with remote alarm contacts in the rear and a 1/2″ probe port on the right side to accept additional monitoring devices. The ARS12PV comes with a user-reversible door with a factory-installed antimicrobial handle that is powder-coated with naturally occurring silver ions, which help to reduce the spread of germs, allowing for a safer, cleaner user experience. A hospital grade cord with ‘green dot’ plug is also included for added safety in high traffic areas.
Inside, the Summit ARS12PV-FS24LSTACKMED2 Vaccine Refrigerator Freezer utilizes adjustable cycle defrost operation to avoid temperature spikes. Optimized forced air cooling with two internal fans ensures excellent temperature stability and uniformity with rapid recovery after door openings. The adjustable plastic-coated wire shelves can be positioned at 1/2″ increments to accommodate virtually any sized item. We include seven shelves, more than competitor products providing to maximize interior shelving storage area. This unit includes LED internal lighting with an on/off rocker switch. The interior is constructed from white powder coated metal to ensure added durability and better temperature retention.
Designed to be stacked on top of the ARS12PV, the FS24LMED2 freezer utilizes manual defrost operation, with a digital control panel and NIST calibrated thermometer that provides a continuous display of the current and high/low temperature. This unit is also equipped with a temperature alarm and access port to accept additional monitoring equipment.
Both units include front-mounted keyed locks and powerful magnetic gaskets to ensure a positive seal. Additional stacked combinations are available, including smaller sizes and units with glass doors. Browse Accucold’s website for more information, or contact our sales team at 718-893-3900 to discuss your equipment needs.
NOTE: Accucold refrigerators are purpose-built to the support meeting the current CDC (Centers for Disease Control) guidelines for the storage of vaccines. At this time, Accucold refrigerators have not been evaluated to the new NSF 456 standard. As referenced in the current Vaccine Storage and Handling Toolkit, these units incorporate microprocessor controls and forced air circulation for stable operation between 2 and 8ºC. For additional temperature assurance, the CDC recommends a calibrated digital data logger (DDL), which can be added with the factory-installed option DL2B or addition of the DL2BKit accessory.

Shipping FAQ
How long does shipping take after placing an order?
Typical lead-time is 1-3 business days for in-stock items; transit time will depend on carrier and destination.
Is international shipping available and what should I consider for Melbourne, Australia?
Yes — international shipping is feasible. For delivery to Melbourne, Australia consider:
• Import duties, customs clearance & GST.
• Freight site access: doorway width, corridor/elevator access, floor loading capacity.
• Power/voltage: this model is listed at 115 V AC/60 Hz (US version) — verify need for 230 V/50 Hz variant or transformer locally.
How is the unit packaged for transit and what site-requirements should be met?
The unit ships in three boxes (stacked components) with protective packaging. The unpacked footprint is ~212 cm H × ~59 cm W × ~62 cm D; door-open clearance is approximately ~118 cm. Ensure delivery site has a firm, level surface and clearance for handling equipment (pallet jack or lift).
What should I do if my shipment arrives damaged or is delayed?
On delivery, inspect for visible damage or delay. Photograph condition, retain packaging and delivery receipt, then contact your supplier with order/tracking details to begin a claim or request replacement.
Application FAQ
How do I install and set up the ARS12PV-FS24LSTACKMED2?
1. Unpack the stacked units and position them on a firm, level surface. Ensure clearance at rear, sides and top for ventilation, and allow ~118 cm depth for full door opening.
2. Connect to a dedicated, properly grounded outlet matching the unit’s specification. If using in Australia, verify the correct variant (e.g., 230 V/50 Hz) or arrange a step-down transformer.
3. Power on the unit; set the refrigerator section to +2 °C to +8 °C and the freezer section to the required freezing range (as per freezer part specification). Allow several hours for temperature stabilization before loading contents.
4. Verify digital controller/display is working, alarms function correctly (temperature, door, power fault), and the probe port remains clear before routine use.
What best practices should I follow when storing vaccines or frozen materials?
• Use the adjustable wire shelves in the refrigerator and ensure airflow is not blocked.
• Clearly label stored items with date, time, batch or user ID for traceability.
• Minimise door-open time; place frequently accessed items near the front.
• For the freezer section, ensure adequate spacing of items to maximize cold airflow.
• Regularly inspect door gasket/seal, hinges, handle/lock mechanism; maintain logs of internal min/max temperature and alarm-event history if required by facility protocol.
What should I do if a temperature excursion or power interruption occurs?
If temperature goes out of the safe range or power fails:
• Record the event (date/time, observed temperature, impacted contents).
• Immediately relocate critical contents to a validated backup storage until conditions stabilize.
• Identify and correct the root cause (door open, ambient heat load, power/sensor fault).
• Once the unit is back in range and stable, verify conditions before returning contents.
What maintenance and verification routines are recommended?
• Monthly: Inspect door gasket/seal, hinges, handle/lock condition.
• Quarterly: Clean condenser coils and ventilation paths; ensure fan and airflow are unobstructed.
• Periodically: Test audible/visual alarms, remote alarm contacts and probe port; calibrate sensors if required. Keep service/calibration logs and internal temperature records for audit readiness.
