Summit Vaccine Refrigerator Freezer Description:
Accucold offers innovative solutions to vaccine storage with stackable purpose-built refrigerator-freezer combinations design to support meeting CDC/VFC guidelines, with a powder-coated silver ion handle that helps prevent germ spread.
Sized just under 24″ wide, the Summit ARS8PV-FS24LSTACKMED2 Vaccine Refrigerator Freezer combines the 8 cu.ft. ARS8PV auto defrost all-refrigerator with the compact FS24LMED2 all-freezer into one slim footprint using Accucold’s StackRack. This ships in three boxes and requires some minor assembly upon delivery.
Refrigerator ARS8PV is part of Accucold’s Pharma-Vac Performance Series, designed to meet the demanding needs of vaccine storage. It utilizes a microprocessor temperature controller with an adjustable control range from +2 to +8ºC. The buffered temperature probe is encased in a glycol-filled bottle to better simulate temperature of the stored product, with an additional sensor that reads air temperature to ensure superior temperature control. The current and min/max temperature display is viewable in Celsius or Fahrenheit to the nearest tenth of a degree. The audible and visual temperature alarm sounds if the unit’s interior goes out of range. Additional alarms include a power failure alert, door open alarm, and sensor failure alarm. This unit is equipped with remote alarm contacts in the rear and a 1/2″ probe port on the right side to accept additional monitoring devices. This unit comes with a hospital grade cord with a green dot plug for added safety in high traffic areas, as well as a factory-installed antimicrobial handle powder-coated with naturally occurring silver ions, which help to reduce the spread of germs, allowing for a safer, cleaner user experience.
Inside, the ARS8PV utilizes adjustable cycle defrost operation to avoid temperature spikes. Optimized forced air cooling with two internal fans ensures excellent temperature stability and uniformity with rapid recovery after door openings. The adjustable plastic-coated wire shelves can be positioned at 1/2″ increments to accommodate virtually any sized item. We include seven shelves, more than competitor products providing to maximize interior shelving storage area. This unit includes LED internal lighting with an on/off rocker switch. The interior is constructed from white powder coated metal to ensure added durability and better temperature retention.
Designed to be stacked on top of the ARS8PV, the FS24LMED2 freezer utilizes manual defrost operation, with a digital control panel and NIST calibrated thermometer that provides a continuous display of the current and high/low temperature. This unit is also equipped with a temperature alarm and access port to accept additional monitoring equipment.
Both units include front-mounted keyed locks and powerful magnetic gaskets to ensure a positive seal. The refrigerator has a self-closing door for added protection in high traffic settings. Additional stacked combinations are available, including smaller sizes and units with glass doors. Browse Accucold’s website for more information, or contact our sales team at 718-893-3900 to discuss your equipment needs.
NOTE: Accucold refrigerators are purpose-built to the support meeting the current CDC (Centers for Disease Control) guidelines for the storage of vaccines. At this time, Accucold refrigerators have not been evaluated to the new NSF 456 standard. As referenced in the current Vaccine Storage and Handling Toolkit, these units incorporate microprocessor controls and forced air circulation for stable operation between 2 and 8ºC. For additional temperature assurance, the CDC recommends a calibrated digital data logger (DDL), which can be added with the factory-installed option DL2B or addition of the DL2BKit accessory.

Shipping FAQ
How long does shipping take after placing an order?
Estimated lead time is about 5-7 business days when in stock.
Is international shipping available and what should I consider for Melbourne, Australia?
Yes — international shipping is available. For delivery to Melbourne, Australia consider:
• Import duties, customs clearance and GST.
• Site access: walkway, elevator, doorway need to accommodate width ~59 cm and depth ~62 cm, plus door-open depth ~118 cm.
• Electrical compatibility: This unit is specified at 115 V/60 Hz (US); for Australia’s 230 V/50 Hz supply ensure you order the correct variant or organize a suitable transformer/adapter.
How is the unit packaged for transit and what site requirements should be met?
The unit ships in three boxes (stacked combination), and the unpacked footprint is approx. 187 cm H × 59 cm W × 62 cm D. Allow additional space for door swing (~118 cm depth) and ensure delivery area is level and clear of obstructions.
What should I do if my shipment arrives damaged or delayed?
Upon delivery inspect outer packaging and unit condition. If there is damage or delay: photograph the condition, retain packaging and delivery receipt, then contact the supplier with order details to initiate a freight claim or arrange replacement.
Application FAQ
How do I install and set up the ARS8PV-FS24LSTACKMED2?
1. Move the unit in upright orientation to its final location; place on a firm, level indoor surface, allow sufficient clearance behind and above for ventilation.
2. Ensure the front clearance for door opening (approx. 118 cm depth) is available and sufficient.
3. If stacking is required: follow manufacturer’s instructions for assembling the StackRack system — the unit ships in separate components that must be correctly secured together.
4. Connect to a dedicated grounded outlet matching the unit’s spec (115 V/60 Hz or equivalent variant for local region).
5. Turn on both refrigerator and freezer sections; set refrigerator to target +2 °C to +8 °C and freezer to target –15 °C to –20 °C, then allow several hours (typically 4-6 hrs) for temperature stabilization before loading sensitive items.
What best practices should I follow when using this combined vaccine refrigerator/freezer?
• Organize storage so that the refrigerator section and freezer section are clearly separated; use wire shelves to allow airflow.
• Label stored materials (date/time/batch) and rotate stock (FIFO) where applicable.
• Minimize door-open time; use digital display and alarms to monitor without frequent openings.
• Regularly check that door gaskets, locks and handles are functioning properly and that the antimicrobial handle remains intact.
What should I do if a temperature excursion or power interruption occurs?
If internal temperature falls outside the target range or there is a power interruption:
• Record the event (date/time, observed temperature, affected items).
• Move critical contents to validated backup storage if required until conditions stabilize.
• Investigate cause (door left open, ambient load, power failure or sensor fault).
• Once temperature returns and remains stable within target range, verify stored contents before returning to routine use.
What maintenance and verification routines are recommended?
• Monthly: Inspect door gaskets/seal, self-closing mechanism, handles/locks and ensure unit remains level.
• Quarterly: Clean ventilation grilles, clear dust/debris around condenser/fans, verify alarm functions, logger or probe port (if used).
• Periodically: Maintain logs of minimum/maximum internal temperatures, calibration certificates for any data-logger hardware, and service/maintenance records—especially critical for vaccine-storage compliance.
