What security and usability features does the unit offer?
Includes factory-installed lock option for secure access, sealed-back cabinet for easier cleaning, left-hand door swing, user-friendly digital controls, and a quiet operating sound rating (~33 dB) suitable for shared-area installations.
What types of locations and uses are ideal for this unit?

Shipping FAQ
What are the shipping dimensions and weight?
Shipping dimensions match the cabinet roughly at ~61.88″ H × 23.25″ W × 26.5″ D, and shipping weight is approximately 117 lbs (≈ 53 kg).
What are the power and electrical requirements?
The unit operates on 115 V AC / 60 Hz, draws about 1.5 amps, and uses a dedicated grounded outlet; extension cords are not recommended for institutional settings.
What placement or installation considerations should I know?
Allow full door-swing clearance (≈ 48″ / 122 cm when open), maintain rear ventilation space, level the unit at installation, inspect the packaging for damage upon receipt, and avoid blocking vents or placing heavy items on top that could restrict airflow.
Are there any unpacking or startup procedures?
Yes — inspect for transit damage, allow the unit to sit upright if shipped on its side, plug in only after the unit is levelled, verify external thermometers and alarm systems are functioning before loading critical contents, and allow stabilization time for internal temperature.
Application FAQ
Is this unit suitable for institutional or medical facility use?
Yes — the BKRF1087BLHD is designed for common-area refrigeration and freezing in institutional settings such as staff lounges, wellness rooms, and clinic break-areas, although not specifically certified for ultra-low biologics or vaccine cold-chains.
What best practices should I follow for daily use?
Label stored items clearly, rotate stock per your policy, place a min/max thermometer or data-logger in each major compartment, avoid over-packing shelves which restrict airflow, minimize door-open time, and record start-of-day temperatures as part of facility protocol.
What maintenance should be performed regularly?
Check door gaskets annually for seal integrity, clean or vacuum condenser/vent areas semi-annually, verify thermostat and alarm operations monthly or as required by protocol, and keep the unit level to maintain optimal performance.
What do I do if a temperature alarm or excursion occurs?
Document the time, temperature, and contents affected; relocate contents if required; investigate cause (door left ajar, power interruption, airflow blocked, etc.); reset temperature controls; restore normal conditions; and log the event according to your facility’s SOP.
