Product FAQ
What is the BKRF661BIADA and what is it used for?
The BKRF661BIADA is a 5.1 cu ft (~144 L) built-in under-counter refrigerator-freezer with a 24″ (≈61 cm) footprint and ADA-compliant height (~81 cm), designed for break-rooms, clinics, offices, or medical facility staff areas.
What are the key technical specifications?
• Storage capacity: 5.1 cu ft (~144 L).
• External dimensions: ~81 cm H × ~60 cm W × ~58 cm D; door-open depth ~115 cm (45.38″) with door at 90° angle.
• Temperature control and monitoring: Factory-installed NIST-calibrated thermometer with external read-out (current and high/low temps), plus a high/low temperature audible alarm.
• Cooling and defrost system: Dual-evaporator design (separate evaporators for fridge/freezer sections) for better temperature stability; refrigerator section has automatic cycle defrost, freezer section manual defrost.
• Power: 115 V AC / 60 Hz; typical power draw 1.4 A.
What safety and security features are included?
Features include:
– Front-breathing ventilation design allows built-in or freestanding installation without rear clearance.
– Adjustable glass shelves and door racks for flexible storage of bottles and items.
– Reversible door swing and fully finished cabinet for installation flexibility.
Which environments is this unit best suited for?
Ideal for under-counter installations in break rooms, clinic staff areas, pharmaceutical storage zones, or office facilities where compact refrigeration + a small freezer compartment are needed in an ADA-compliant footprint. Not designed for ultra-low (−20 °C or below) storage or full pharmacy cold-chain vaccine storage unless specifically validated.
Shipping FAQ
How long does shipping take after placing an order?
Typical shipping lead time is 2–5 days for in-stock availability plus carrier transit.
Is international shipping available and what should I consider for Melbourne, Australia?
Yes — international shipping is possible. For delivery to Melbourne, Australia consider:
• Import duties, customs clearance and GST.
• Site access: ensure appliance pathway (doorways, corridors, elevators) can accommodate ~60 cm width × ~58 cm depth and allow ~115 cm clearance in front for door opening.
• Electrical compatibility: This model is specified at 115 V AC / 60 Hz in U.S. configuration — for Australia (230 V / 50 Hz) you’ll need to order the correct export variant or utilize a certified step-down transformer installed by a qualified electrician.
How is the unit packaged for transit and what site requirements should be met?
The unit ships boxed and palletized; unpacked footprint approx ~81 cm H × ~60 cm W × ~58 cm D; with door-open depth ~115 cm. The delivery surface must be level, firm and free of obstructions from the vehicle to the install location.
What should I do if my shipment arrives damaged or delayed?
Upon delivery inspect outer packaging and unit for visible damage. Photograph any damage, retain the packaging and receipt, and contact your supplier with your order/tracking details to initiate a freight claim or arrange replacement.
Application FAQ
How do I install and set up the BKRF661BIADA?
1. Place the unit upright on a firm, level indoor surface in either built-in or freestanding mode; ensure adequate ventilation (top/rear if freestanding).
2. Allow clearance: approx ~115 cm in front for full door opening, and enough side/rear space if not front-vented.
3. Connect to a dedicated grounded electrical outlet matching the ordered spec (U.S. version 115 V/60 Hz).
4. Power on the unit; allow it to run empty for ~2-4 hours until temperatures stabilize, then load contents.
What best practices should I follow when using this refrigerator-freezer?
• Arrange items to maximize airflow inside both fridge and freezer compartments; avoid over-packing.
• Use the external thermometer display and alarm read-out rather than opening the door frequently for status checks.
• Periodically inspect door gasket/seal, hinges and handle operation; maintain level installation.
• Label stored items and rotate contents as appropriate for your facility.
What should I do if a temperature excursion or power interruption occurs?
• Record the event: date/time, observed temperature, impacted items.
• If available, transfer critical contents to validated backup storage until recovery.
• Identify cause (e.g., door left open, ambient heat-load increase, power/sensor fault).
• Once temperatures return to acceptable range, re-verify contents for integrity and resume standard use.
What maintenance and verification routines are recommended?
• Monthly: Check door gasket/seal condition, hinges and lock; ensure unit is level.
• Quarterly: Clean interior/exterior surfaces; verify airflow, door alignment, and test thermometer/alarm functionality.
• Periodically: Export or review high/low internal temperature logs (if applicable); keep calibration/maintenance records for audit or compliance.
