Product FAQ
What is the SCFU386NZ and what is it used for?
The SCFU386NZ is a 2 cu ft (~57 L) compact all-freezer with a glass door, purpose-built for commercial or medical display and storage of sealed items. It supports freezer temperatures down to approximately –20 °C (–4 °F) with manual defrost and includes a NIST-calibrated digital thermometer and audible alarm for temperature excursions.
What are the key technical specifications?
• Capacity: 2.0 cu ft (~57 L).
• External dimensions: H ~67 cm (26.25″) × W ~59 cm (23.38″) × D ~52 cm (20.63″); door-open depth ~107 cm (42″).
• Defrost type: Manual.
• Glass door with self-closing feature and factory-installed keyed lock.
• Digital external display showing current/high-low temperature (switchable between °C/°F), audible alarm if limits exceeded.
• Shelves: Two adjustable wire shelves included.
• Operating temperature range: approximately –20 °C to –15 °C (–4 °F to +5 °F).
• Power: 115 V AC / 60 Hz standard U.S. version (4.0 amps).
• Certification: ETL-S listed for NSF-7 commercial use.
What safety and security features are included?
Features include:
– Factory-installed keyed lock for secure access.
– Self-closing door to prevent inadvertent open-time.
– NIST-calibrated thermometer with audible high/low alarm for temperature excursions.
– LED interior lighting for visibility of contents.
Which environments is this unit best suited for?
Ideal for clinics, pharmacies, nutrition bars, break-rooms or staff-areas where compact freezer storage of sealed items or specimens is needed, and where visibility through a glass door is beneficial. Not intended for ultra-low (≤ –80 °C) or regulated vaccine cold-chain unless explicitly validated for that use.
Shipping FAQ
How long does shipping take after placing an order?
Typical lead time is around 5–7 business days when in stock and ready for dispatch.
Is international shipping available and what should I consider for Melbourne, Australia?
Yes — international shipping is available. For delivery to Melbourne, Australia you should consider:
• Import duties, customs clearance and GST.
• Site access: confirm pathways (doorways, elevators) can accommodate ~59 cm width × ~52 cm depth and allow ~107 cm front clearance for full door opening.
• Electrical compatibility: This unit is rated at 115 V AC / 60 Hz (U.S. version) — for Australia (230 V / 50 Hz), ensure you order the correct export variant or install a certified step-down transformer by a licensed electrician.
How is the unit packaged for transit and what site requirements should be met?
The unit ships boxed and palletized; unpacked footprint ~67 cm H × ~59 cm W × ~52 cm D; door-open depth ~107 cm. Ensure the delivery path is level, firm and clear from vehicle to install location.
What should I do if my shipment arrives damaged or delayed?
On delivery inspect the outer packaging and unit for visible damage. Photograph any damage, retain the packaging and delivery receipt, and contact your supplier with order/tracking details to initiate a freight claim or arrange replacement.
Application FAQ
How do I install and set up the SCFU386NZ?
1. Place the unit upright on a firm, level indoor surface in a climate-controlled room; allow adequate clearance behind and above, and ~107 cm in front for full door opening.
2. Connect to a dedicated grounded outlet matching your model’s voltage.
3. Power on the unit, set the thermostat to the target internal temperature (factory spec ~–20 °C to –15 °C); allow approximately 2-4 hours for the interior to stabilize before loading sealed items.
What best practices should I follow when using this freezer?
• Load sealed items on the adjustable wire shelves with ample spacing for airflow; avoid over-packing which can reduce cooling performance.
• Label stored items with batch number and date/time and apply first-in/first-out (FIFO) rotation where applicable.
• Minimize door-open duration; rely on the digital display and alarm system rather than frequent internal access.
• Regularly inspect door gaskets/seals, hinges and lock mechanism; keep the unit level and interior clean.
What should I do if a temperature excursion or power interruption occurs?
• Record the event: date/time, observed temperature deviation, and impacted contents.
• Transfer critical contents to validated backup storage until conditions stabilize.
• Investigate the root cause of the excursion (door left open, high ambient load, power or sensor fault).
• Once the unit returns to stable operation at the target temperature, verify the integrity of stored contents before resuming normal use.
What maintenance and verification routines are recommended?
• Monthly: Inspect door gasket/seal, hinges, lock/handle; ensure the unit remains level.
• Quarterly: Clean interior/exterior surfaces; verify airflow and test alarm/display function.
• Periodically: Export or record any high/low temperature logs (if the device supports logging); verify calibration certificate validity and maintain documented service/maintenance records for compliance.
