Summit Vaccine Refrigerator Freezer Description:
Accucold offers innovative solutions to vaccine storage with stackable purpose-built refrigerator-freezer combinations design to support meeting CDC/VFC guidelines.
Sized at just 20″ wide, the Summit ARG3PV-ADA305AFSTACK Vaccine Refrigerator Freezer combines the 3 cu. ft. ARG3PV auto defrost vaccine refrigerator with ADA305AF 2.47 cu. ft. manual defrost vaccine freezer into one slim footprint using Accucold’s StackRack. This ships in three boxes and requires some minor assembly upon delivery.
Refrigerator ARG3PV is part of Accucold’s Pharma-Vac Performance Series, designed to meet the demanding needs of vaccine storage. It utilizes a microprocessor temperature controller with an adjustable control range from +2 to +8ºC. The buffered temperature probe is encased in a glycol-filled bottle to better simulate temperature of the stored product, with an additional sensor that reads air temperature to ensure superior temperature control. The current and min/max temperature display is viewable in Celsius or Fahrenheit to the nearest tenth of a degree. The audible and visual temperature alarm sounds if the unit’s interior goes out of range. Additional alarms include a power failure alert, door open alarm, and sensor failure alarm. This unit is equipped with remote alarm contacts in the rear and a 1/2″ probe port on the right side to accept additional monitoring devices. The factory-installed antimicrobial handle is powder-coated with naturally occurring silver ions, which help to reduce the spread of germs, allowing for a safer, cleaner user experience.
Inside, the ARG3PV utilizes adjustable cycle defrost operation to avoid temperature spikes. Optimized forced air cooling with an internal fan ensures excellent temperature stability and uniformity with rapid recovery after door openings. The adjustable plastic-coated wire shelves can be positioned at 1/2″ increments to accommodate virtually any sized item. This unit includes LED internal lighting with an on/off rocker switch. The interior is constructed from white powder coated metal to ensure added durability and better temperature retention.
The refrigerator is designed to be stacked on top of the ADA305AF, a -25ºC vaccine freezer that utilizes manual defrost operation. The freezer has 3″ thick door for efficient insulation, and a flat door liner, as recommended by the CDC, to ensure users don’t store sensitive materials on the door. Three removable pull-out drawers on fixed wire shelving offer convenient storage, with plastic fronts that help to protect contents from warmer ambient temperatures when the door is opened. A digital thermostat, located in the kickplate, makes for easy temperature management with a readout in Fahrenheit or Celsius. This unit is also equipped with high/low temperature and open door alarms, as well as an access port to accept additional monitoring equipment.
Both units include front-mounted keyed locks, powerful magnetic gaskets to ensure a positive seal, and hospital grade cords with ‘green dot’ plugs for added safety in high traffic areas. The refrigerator has a self-closing door. Additional stacked combinations are available. Browse Accucold’s website for more information, or contact our sales team at 718-893-3900 to discuss your equipment needs.
NOTE: Accucold refrigerators are purpose-built to the support meeting the current CDC (Centers for Disease Control) guidelines for the storage of vaccines. At this time, Accucold refrigerators have not been evaluated to the new NSF 456 standard. As referenced in the current Vaccine Storage and Handling Toolkit, these units incorporate microprocessor controls and forced air circulation for stable operation between 2 and 8ºC. For additional temperature assurance, the CDC recommends a calibrated digital data logger (DDL), which can be added with the factory-installed option DL2B or addition of the DL2BKit accessory.

Shipping FAQ
How long does shipping take after placing an order?
Typical lead time is approximately 5–7 days when in stock for this model. Actual transit time depends on destination and freight carrier.
Is international shipping available and what should I consider for Melbourne, Australia?
Yes – the unit can be shipped internationally. For delivery to Melbourne, Australia you should consider:
• Import duties, customs clearance & Goods & Services Tax (GST).
• Freight access and site clearance (door width, corridor/elevator access, floor loading capacity).
• Electrical compatibility – this unit is rated 115 V AC/60 Hz (US version); verify if a 230 V/50 Hz variant or step-down/up transformer is required locally.
How is the unit packaged for transit and what site requirements should be met?
The unit ships in three boxes (stacked configuration), crate/palletized with protective packaging. Approx. unpacked dimensions: ~168 cm H × ~50 cm W × ~57 cm D; door open depth ~102 cm. Ensure delivery site has a firm, level surface, sufficient entry & clearance and handling equipment (pallet jack/lift) if required.
What should I do if my shipment arrives damaged or is delayed?
On delivery inspect packaging and unit for visible damage or delays. If damage is present: photograph condition, retain packaging and delivery receipt, and contact your supplier with your order/tracking details to initiate a claim or replacement.
Application FAQ
How do I install and set up the ARG3PV-ADA305AFSTACK?
1. Unpack and assemble the stacked system: install bottom freezer module, mount the refrigerator module on top using the supplied StackRack hardware. Ensure unit is placed on a firm, level surface.
2. Ensure adequate ambient conditions: clearance behind, on both sides and above; ensure full door-open clearance (~102 cm).
3. Connect to a dedicated grounded outlet matching unit’s specifications (115 V AC/60 Hz); if using in Melbourne check local voltage variant or transformer requirement.
4. Power on the unit; set the refrigerator section target to +2 °C–+8 °C and freezer section to -25 °C–15 °C. Allow several hours of stabilization (typically 4-6 hours) before loading vaccines or sensitive materials.
5. Verify the digital controller and display are functional, alarm system (temp high/low, door open, power fail) respond correctly, and that the keyed lock and probe port are accessible before routine use.
What best practices should I follow when storing vaccines or frozen materials?
• In the refrigerator section: use adjustable wire shelves and avoid blocking airflow; do not over-pack or block vents.
• In the freezer section: use the slide-out basket shelves; allow for spacing of items to maintain cold-air circulation; keep frequently accessed items toward the front.
• Clearly label all stored items with date/time, batch or user ID for traceability and audit compliance.
• Minimize door/drawer opening time and frequency; store frequently accessed items near front to reduce ambient intrusion.
• Regularly inspect door gasket/seal, hinges, handle/lock; maintain records of minimum/maximum internal temperature and any alarm events, if required by facility protocol.
What should I do if a temperature excursion or power interruption occurs?
If the interior temperature rises above or falls below the safe ranges (+2 °C to +8 °C for fridge; -25 °C to -15 °C for freezer), or if a power interruption occurs:
• Record the event: date/time, observed temperature, impacted contents.
• Move critical contents immediately to a validated backup refrigeration/freezer until conditions stabilize.
• Identify and correct root cause (door left open, ambient heat load, power/sensor fault).
• Once the unit resumes stable operation and the internal temperature returns to within range, verify before returning contents.
What maintenance and verification routines are recommended?
• Monthly: Inspect door gasket/seal, hinges, handle/lock condition.
• Quarterly: Clean condenser coils and ventilation paths; ensure fan (if present) and airflow are unobstructed and free of dust or blockage.
• Periodically: Test audible/visual alarms, external probe port and remote contacts; calibrate sensors if required. Maintain service/calibration logs, internal temperature logs and alarm-event history for audit readiness.
