Summit Counter Height Vaccine Refrigerator Description:
Accucold’s Pharma-Vac Performance Series are upright all-refrigerators designed and purpose-built for pharmacy, medication, and vaccine applications to support meeting CDC/VFC guidelines.
The Summit ARS3PV Counter Height Vaccine Refrigerator is a 3 cu.ft. all-refrigerator with an adjustable control range from +2 to +8ºC. The microprocessor temperature controller is externally located to minimize door openings, helping to protect stored contents from ambient temperature. The buffered temperature probe is encased in a glycol-filled bottle to better simulate temperature of the stored product, with an additional sensor that reads air temperature to ensure superior temperature control. The current and min/max temperature display is viewable in Celsius or Fahrenheit to the nearest tenth of a degree. The audible and visual temperature alarm sounds if the unit’s interior goes out of range. Additional alarms include a power failure alert, door open alarm, and sensor failure alarm. This unit is equipped with remote alarm contacts in the rear and a 1/2″ probe port on the right side to accept additional monitoring devices. A hospital grade cord with ‘green dot’ plug is also included for added safety in high traffic areas.
Inside, the Summit ARS3PV Counter Height Vaccine Refrigerator utilizes adjustable cycle defrost operation to avoid temperature spikes. Optimized forced air cooling with one internal fan ensures excellent temperature stability and uniformity with rapid recovery after door openings. The adjustable plastic-coated wire shelves can be positioned at 1/2″ increments to accommodate virtually any sized item. This unit includes LED internal lighting with an on/off rocker switch. The interior is constructed from white powder coated metal to ensure added durability and better temperature retention.
The Summit ARS3PV Counter Height Vaccine Refrigerator comes in a white cabinet finish with a blue accented control panel. The factory-installed antimicrobial handle is powder-coated with naturally occurring silver ions, which help to reduce the spread of germs, allowing for a safer, cleaner user experience. The user-reversible door ships with a right hand swing and self-closing function (note: self-closing is disabled once reversed to LHD). This model includes a factory-installed lock and ships with two keys for staff use. Powerful magnetic gaskets ensure a positive seal.
Designed with hydrocarbon refrigerant, the ARS3PV provides an energy efficient solution to vaccine storage. This unit is Pyxis, Omnicell, and AcuDose RX compatible. This unit is designed for freestanding use. For a recessed version, see the ARS32PVBIADA. Additionally, other sizes, as well as solid door options, are also available. NOTE: Accucold refrigerators are purpose-built to the support meeting the current CDC (Centers for Disease Control) guidelines for the storage of vaccines. At this time, Accucold refrigerators have not been evaluated to the new NSF 456 standard. As referenced in the current Vaccine Storage and Handling Toolkit, these units incorporate microprocessor controls and forced air circulation for stable operation between 2 and 8ºC. For additional temperature assurance, the CDC recommends a calibrated digital data logger (DDL), which can be added with the factory-installed option DL2B or addition of the DL2BKit accessory.

Product FAQ
What is the ARG3PV and what is it used for?
The ARG3PV is a 3 cu ft (~85 L) counter-height vaccine refrigerator purpose-built for pharmacy, clinic and immunization-storage applications. It maintains a controlled temperature range of +2 °C to +8 °C with an external microprocessor controller for improved temperature stability.
What are the key technical specifications?
• Capacity: 3.0 cu ft (~85 L).
• External dimensions: approx. Height ~86 cm (~34″), Width ~47 cm (~18.5″), Depth ~48 cm (~19″).
• Temperature range: +2 °C to +8 °C.
• Shelves: 4 adjustable plastic-coated wire shelves.
• Alarms/monitoring: High/low temperature alarms, door-open alarm, power/sensor fault alarm, remote alarm contacts, and a ½″ probe access port for external monitoring.
• Warranty: 2 years parts & labor; 5 years compressor.
What safety and security features are included?
Features include:
– Antimicrobial silver-ion coated handle to reduce microbial spread.
– Factory-installed keyed lock for restricted access.
– Double-pane tempered glass door (select models) and hospital-grade “green-dot” power cord.
Which environments is this unit best suited for?
Ideal for pharmacies, immunization clinics, university labs or medical-storage rooms requiring compact +2 °C to +8 °C refrigeration in a counter-height footprint. Not intended for ultra-low temperature (–20 °C or below) without separate validation.
Shipping FAQ
How long does shipping take after placing an order?
Typical lead time is 5–7 days once the unit is in stock and ready for dispatch.
Is international shipping available and what should I consider for Melbourne, Australia?
Yes — international shipping is available. For delivery to Melbourne, Australia consider:
• Import duties, customs clearance and GST.
• Site access: ensure doorways, elevators or corridors can accommodate approx. 47 cm width × 48 cm depth, and allow approx. 91 cm for full door-opening clearance.
• Electrical compatibility: This U.S. version is rated at 115 V AC / 60 Hz — for Australia (230 V / 50 Hz), ensure you order the correct export variant or install a certified transformer/adaptor.
How is the unit packaged for transit and what site requirements should be met?
Ships palletized and boxed; unpacked footprint: ~86 cm H × ~47 cm W × ~48 cm D; allow for full door-open clearance (~91 cm). Delivery site should have level, firm footing and unobstructed path from delivery vehicle to final location.
What should I do if my shipment arrives damaged or delayed?
Inspect the outer packaging and unit on arrival for visible damage. Photograph any damage, keep the packaging and delivery receipt, and contact your supplier with your order and tracking details to initiate a freight claim or arrange replacement.
Application FAQ
How do I install and set up the ARG3PV?
1. Place the unit upright on a firm, level indoor surface in a climate-controlled area; allow approx. 91 cm linear clearance for door-opening in front and sufficient clearance behind/above for ventilation.
2. Connect the unit to a dedicated grounded outlet matching the ordered variant (115 V AC / 60 Hz U.S. version or appropriate export variant for your region).
3. Power on, set the microprocessor controller to the target +2 °C to +8 °C range; allow approx. 4-6 hours for internal temperature stabilization before loading vaccines.
What best practices should I follow when using this refrigerator?
• Store items evenly on the adjustable shelves with adequate spacing for airflow; avoid overcrowding which can impair cooling.
• Label stored products with batch number and date; apply a first-in/first-out (FIFO) rotation system.
• Minimize door-open duration; monitor via the external controller/display rather than frequent internal checks.
• Regularly inspect door gasket/seal, hinges and lock mechanism; keep the interior clean and the unit level.
What should I do if a temperature excursion or power interruption occurs?
If the internal temperature rises above or falls below the target +2 °C to +8 °C range, or a power interruption occurs:
• Record the event: date/time, observed temperature, impacted contents.
• Transfer critical contents to a validated backup storage location until temperatures stabilize.
• Investigate root cause (door left open, ambient heat load, power or sensor fault).
• Once temperature returns to target range and stability is achieved, verify stored contents for integrity before resuming normal use.
What maintenance and verification routines are recommended?
• Monthly: Check door gasket/seal, hinge operation and lock mechanism; ensure unit remains level.
• Quarterly: Clean interior and exterior surfaces; check ventilation and air pathways; test alarms and monitoring functions.
• Periodically: Export and review minimum/maximum internal temperature logs (if available); verify calibration certificate where required; maintain documented service and maintenance history for audit compliance.
