Summit Pharmacy Medical Vaccine Refrigerator Description:
Accucold’s Pharma-Vac Performance Series are upright all-refrigerators designed and purpose-built for pharmacy, medication, and vaccine applications to support meeting CDC/VFC guidelines.
The Summit ARG61PVBIADA Pharmacy Medical Vaccine Refrigerator is a 6 cu.ft. all-refrigerator with a temperature range of +2°C to +8°C. Sized at just under 32″ high to fit under lower counters complying with ADA guidelines for accessibility. It is designed for freestanding or recessed installation. The microprocessor temperature controller is externally located to minimize door openings, helping to protect stored contents from ambient temperature. The buffered temperature probe is encased in a glycol-filled bottle to better simulate temperature of the stored product, with an additional sensor that reads air temperature to ensure superior temperature control. The current and min/max temperature display is viewable in Celsius or Fahrenheit to the nearest tenth of a degree. The audible and visual temperature alarm sounds if the unit’s interior goes out of range. Additional alarms include a power failure alert, door open alarm, and sensor failure alarm. This model is equipped with remote alarm contacts in the rear and a 1/2″ probe port on the right side to accept additional monitoring devices. A hospital grade cord with ‘green dot’ plug is also included for added safety in high traffic areas.
Inside, the Summit ARG61PVBIADA Pharmacy Medical Vaccine Refrigerator utilizes adjustable cycle defrost operation to avoid temperature spikes. Optimized forced air cooling with an internal fan to ensure excellent temperature stability and uniformity with rapid recovery after door openings. The adjustable plastic-coated wire shelves can be positioned at 1/2″ increments to accommodate virtually any sized item. This unit includes LED internal lighting with an on/off rocker switch. The interior is constructed from white powder coated metal to ensure added durability and better temperature retention.
The Summit ARG61PVBIADA Pharmacy Medical Vaccine Refrigerator comes in a white cabinet finish with a blue accented control panel. The factory-installed antimicrobial handle is powder-coated with naturally occurring silver ions, which help to reduce the spread of germs, allowing for a safer, cleaner user experience. The double pane tempered glass door provides a full view of the interior. The user-reversible door ships with a right hand swing and self-closing function (note: self-closing is disabled once reversed to LHD), while a factory-installed lock provides security as needed, with two keys for staff use. Powerful magnetic gaskets ensure a positive seal.
Designed with hydrocarbon refrigerant, the ARG61PVBIADA provides an energy efficient solution to vaccine storage. This unit is Pyxis, Omnicell, and AcuDose RX compatible. Additional sizes, as well as solid door options, are also available. Explore the full Pharma-Vac series at accucold.com/pharmavac.
NOTE: Accucold refrigerators are purpose-built to the support meeting the current CDC (Centers for Disease Control) guidelines for the storage of vaccines. At this time, Accucold refrigerators have not been evaluated to the new NSF 456 standard. As referenced in the current Vaccine Storage and Handling Toolkit, these units incorporate microprocessor controls and forced air circulation for stable operation between 2 and 8ºC. For additional temperature assurance, the CDC recommends a calibrated digital data logger (DDL), which can be added with the factory-installed option DL2B or addition of the DL2BKit accessory.

Shipping FAQ
How long does shipping take after placing an order?
Typical dispatch often next-day in the U.S. when stock is available; transit time depends on destination and carrier.
Is international shipping available and what should I consider for Melbourne, Australia?
Yes — international shipping can be arranged. For delivery to Melbourne, Australia you should consider:
• Import duties, customs clearance & Goods & Services Tax (GST).
• Site access & clearance: door width, corridor/elevator access, floor loading capacity.
• Local mains plug/voltage compatibility — this unit is rated 115 V AC/60 Hz (US version); verify if a 230 V/50 Hz variant or step-down/up transformer is required in Australia.
How is the unit packaged for transit and what site requirements should be met?
The unit ships palletized and boxed with protective packaging. Approx. packed dimensions align with the cabinet (~81 cm H × ~59 cm W × ~64 cm D) plus pallet allowances; shipping weight ~70–80 kg (depending on packing). Ensure your delivery site has a firm, level surface, sufficient entry/door-swing clearance (~119 cm) and handling equipment (pallet jack/ lift) if needed.
What should I do if my shipment arrives damaged or is delayed?
On delivery, inspect for visible damage or signs of delay. If damage is found: photograph the condition, retain packaging and the delivery receipt, then contact your supplier with order/tracking details to initiate a claim or replacement.
Application FAQ
How do I install and set up the ARG61PVBIADA?
1. Place the unit on a firm, level surface or in an under-counter bay-frame with adequate clearance at rear, sides and above; allow for door-swing clearance (~119 cm depth) unobstructed.
2. Connect to a dedicated grounded outlet rated for the unit’s specification (115 V AC/60 Hz). If installing in Melbourne, confirm local variant or transformer is required.
3. Plug in and power on the unit; set the target temperature within the +2 °C to +8 °C range; allow several hours for internal stabilization before loading vaccines or temperature-sensitive contents.
4. Verify the digital controller/display is correctly functioning, alarms (high/low temp, door-open, power fault) respond, the external probe port is accessible and the lock mechanism is operational before regular use.
What best practices should I follow when storing vaccines or medical materials?
• Use the adjustable wire shelves; avoid over-packing or obstructing airflow to maintain uniform internal temperature.
• Clearly label each stored item with date/time, batch or user ID for traceability.
• Minimize door-openings and the length the door remains open — store frequently accessed items near front to reduce ambient intrusion.
• Regularly inspect door gasket/seal, hinges, handle/lock mechanism; maintain logs of minimum/maximum internal temperature and alarm-event history if your facility protocol requires it.
What should I do if a temperature excursion or power interruption occurs?
If the interior temperature rises above or falls below the safe range (+2 °C to +8 °C), or if a power interruption occurs:
• Record the event: date/time, observed temperature and impacted contents.
• Immediately relocate critical items to validated backup refrigeration until conditions stabilize.
• Identify and correct the root cause (door left open, ambient heat load, sensor/power fault).
• Once the unit returns to normal operation and the internal temperature stabilizes, verify readings are within range before returning items.
What maintenance and verification routines are recommended?
• Monthly: Inspect door gasket/seal, hinges and lock mechanism.
• Quarterly: Clean condenser coils and ventilation pathways; verify fan/airflow and ensure no dust or obstruction.
• Periodically: Test audible/visual alarms, probe access port/remote contacts; calibrate sensors if required. Maintain service/calibration logs, internal temperature logs and alarm-event history for audit readiness.
