Summit Vaccine Refrigerator Freezer Description:
Accucold offers innovative solutions to vaccine storage with stackable purpose-built refrigerator-freezer combinations designed to support meeting CDC/VFC guidelines.
Sized just under 24″ wide, the ARG6PV-VT65MLSTACKMED2 combines the 6 cu.ft. ARG6PV auto defrost all-refrigerator with VT65MLBIMED2 all-freezer into one slim footprint using Accucold’s StackRack. This ships in three boxes and requires some minor assembly upon delivery.
Summit ARG6PV-VT65MLSTACKMED2 Vaccine Refrigerator Freezer is part of Accucold’s Pharma-Vac Performance Series, designed to meet the demanding needs of vaccine storage. It utilizes a microprocessor temperature controller with an adjustable control range from +2 to +8ºC. The buffered temperature probe is encased in a glycol-filled bottle to better simulate temperature of the stored product, with an additional sensor that reads air temperature to ensure superior temperature control. The current and min/max temperature display is viewable in Celsius or Fahrenheit to the nearest tenth of a degree. The audible and visual temperature alarm sounds if the unit’s interior goes out of range. Additional alarms include a power failure alert, door open alarm, and sensor failure alarm. This unit is equipped with remote alarm contacts in the rear and a 1/2″ probe port on the right side to accept additional monitoring devices. The factory-installed antimicrobial handle is powder-coated with naturally occurring silver ions, which help to reduce the spread of germs, allowing for a safer, cleaner user experience. A hospital grade cord with ‘green dot’ plug is also included for added safety in high traffic areas.
Inside, the Summit ARG6PV-VT65MLSTACKMED2 Vaccine Refrigerator Freezer utilizes adjustable cycle defrost operation to avoid temperature spikes. Optimized forced air cooling with an internal fan ensures excellent temperature stability and uniformity with rapid recovery after door openings. The adjustable plastic-coated wire shelves can be positioned at 1/2″ increments to accommodate virtually any sized item. This unit includes LED internal lighting with an on/off rocker switch. The interior is constructed from white powder coated metal to ensure added durability and better temperature retention.
The refrigerator is designed to be stacked on top of the VT65MLBIMED2, a -25ºC all-freezer that utilizes manual defrost operation. The freezer includes three slide-out plastic storage drawers to better protect the contents from warmer ambient temperature when the door is opened. The digital control panel includes a NIST calibrated thermometer that provides a continuous display of the current and high/low temperature. This unit is also equipped with a temperature alarm and access port to accept additional monitoring equipment.
Both units include front-mounted keyed locks and powerful magnetic gaskets to ensure a positive seal. The refrigerator has a self-closing door for added protection in high traffic settings. Additional stacked combinations are available. Browse Accucold’s website for more information, or contact our sales team at 718-893-3900 to discuss your equipment needs.
NOTE: Accucold refrigerators are purpose-built to the support meeting the current CDC (Centers for Disease Control) guidelines for the storage of vaccines. At this time, Accucold refrigerators have not been evaluated to the new NSF 456 standard. As referenced in the current Vaccine Storage and Handling Toolkit, these units incorporate microprocessor controls and forced air circulation for stable operation between 2 and 8ºC. For additional temperature assurance, the CDC recommends a calibrated digital data logger (DDL), which can be added with the factory-installed option DL2B or addition of the DL2BKit accessory.

Shipping FAQ
How long does shipping take after placing an order?
Typical lead time: about 5-7 days when in stock.
Is international shipping available and what should I consider for Melbourne, Australia?
Yes — international shipping is available. For delivery to Melbourne, Australia you should consider:
• Import duties, customs clearance & GST.
• Site access: Ensure width ~60 cm, depth ~62 cm plus door-open clearance (~118 cm) and height ~173 cm; verify floor loading, corridor, elevator access.
• Electrical compatibility: Unit is rated for 115 V AC/60 Hz (US version). For Australia’s 230 V/50 Hz supply, you must order the correct variant or use an approved transformer/adaptor.
How is the unit packaged for transit and what site requirements should be met?
Ships in three boxes (StackRack system). Unpacked footprint approx.: 173 cm H × 60 cm W × 62 cm D; allow extra clearance for door opening. Delivery site must have level, firm surface and clear access from vehicle to install location.
What should I do if my shipment arrives damaged or is delayed?
On delivery inspect packaging and unit for visible damage or transit issues. If damage is present: photograph condition, retain packaging and delivery receipt, then contact your supplier with order/tracking details for freight claim or replacement.
Application FAQ
How do I install and set up the ARG6PV-VT65MLSTACKMED2?
1. Position the unit in its final location on a firm, level indoor surface. Ensure adequate clearance behind and above for ventilation and front clearance for full door swing (~118 cm).
2. Assemble per manufacturer instructions: install bottom refrigerator section, stack and secure freezer section using the StackRack bracket (ships in three boxes).
3. Connect the unit to a dedicated grounded outlet matching local voltage and frequency (US version: 115 V/60 Hz). For Australia ensure the correct variant or suitable transformer is installed.
4. Power on, set refrigerator section to target +2 °C to +8 °C and freezer to target -12 °C to -25 °C, then allow 4-6 hours for temperature stabilization before loading vaccines or sensitive items.
What best practices should I follow when using this refrigerator/freezer combination?
• Use the adjustable wire shelves (refrigerator) and slide-out drawers (freezer) with proper spacing to allow airflow; avoid over-packing which may impair temperature uniformity.
• Label stored items with date/time/batch number and employ a first-in/first-out (FIFO) system where applicable.
• Minimize door-open time; rely on external display, alarms or digital logger to monitor temperature instead of frequent checks.
• Regularly inspect seals/gasket, door self-close (refrigerator section), lock/handle mechanism, and keep the interior clean and level.
What should I do if a temperature excursion or power interruption occurs?
If internal temperature moves outside the target range or a power interruption occurs:
• Record event: date/time, recorded temperature, affected contents.
• Move critical items to validated backup storage until conditions stabilize.
• Investigate root cause (e.g., door left open too long, ambient heat load, power/sensor fault).
• Once stable and within range, verify stored contents before returning to routine use.
What maintenance and verification routines are recommended?
• Monthly: Check door gasket/seal, self-closing mechanism, hinges, lock/handle and ensure unit remains level.
• Quarterly: Clean external surfaces and interior, inspect ventilation inlets/outlets, check alarm and probe port function.
• Periodically: Maintain logs of minimum/maximum internal temperatures using the included digital controller or external logger, keep calibration certificates current, and maintain service/maintenance records—critical for regulated vaccine-storage environments.
