Summit Compact Laboratory Refrigerator Description:
Accucold’s Med-Lab Performance Series all-refrigerators are designed and purpose-built to meet the demanding needs of life science, laboratory, and medical cold storage applications.
The Summit ARS3ML Compact Laboratory Refrigerator is a 3 cu.ft. all-refrigerator with an adjustable control range from +2 to +10ºC. The microprocessor temperature controller is externally located to minimize door openings, helping to protect stored contents from ambient temperature. The buffered temperature probe is encased in a glycol-filled bottle to better simulate temperature of the stored product, with an additional sensor that reads air temperature to ensure superior temperature control. The current and min/max temperature display is viewable in Celsius or Fahrenheit to the nearest tenth of a degree. The audible and visual temperature alarm sounds if the unit’s interior goes out of range. Additional alarms include a power failure alert, door open alarm, and sensor failure alarm. This unit is equipped with remote alarm contacts in the rear and a 1/2″ probe port on the right side to accept additional monitoring devices. A hospital grade cord with ‘green dot’ plug is also included for added safety in high traffic areas.
Inside, the Summit ARS3ML Compact Laboratory Refrigerator utilizes adjustable cycle defrost operation to avoid temperature spikes. Optimized forced air cooling with one internal fan ensures excellent temperature stability and uniformity with rapid recovery after door openings. The adjustable plastic-coated wire shelves can be positioned at 1/2″ increments to accommodate virtually any sized item. This unit includes LED internal lighting with an on/off rocker switch. The interior is constructed from white powder coated metal to ensure added durability and better temperature retention.
The Summit ARS3ML Compact Laboratory Refrigerator comes in a white cabinet finish with a blue accented control panel. The factory-installed antimicrobial handle is powder-coated with naturally occurring silver ions, which help to reduce the spread of germs, allowing for a safer, cleaner user experience. The user-reversible door ships with a right hand swing and self-closing function (note: self-closing is disabled once reversed to LHD). This model includes a factory-installed lock and ships with two keys for staff use. Powerful magnetic gaskets ensure a positive seal.
Designed with hydrocarbon refrigerant, the ARS3ML provides an energy efficient solution to laboratory and life science storage. This unit is Pyxis, Omnicell, and AcuDose RX compatible. Additional sizes are available. Explore the full Med-Lab series at accucold.com/medlab.
NOTE: Accucold refrigerators are purpose-built to the support meeting the current CDC (Centers for Disease Control) guidelines for the storage of vaccines. At this time, Accucold refrigerators have not been evaluated to the new NSF 456 standard. As referenced in the current Vaccine Storage and Handling Toolkit, these units incorporate microprocessor controls and forced air circulation for stable operation. For additional temperature assurance, the CDC recommends a calibrated digital data logger (DDL), which can be added with the factory-installed option DL2B or addition of the DL2BKit accessory.

Shipping FAQ
How long does shipping take after placing an order?
Estimated shipping lead time is typically 5–7 days when the unit is in stock.
Is international shipping available and what should I consider for Melbourne, Australia?
Yes — international shipping is available. For delivery to Melbourne, Australia consider:
• Import duties, customs clearance and GST.
• Site access: ensure doorways/elevators/corridors can accommodate ~47 cm width × ~48 cm depth and allow ~91 cm for door-open clearance.
• Electrical compatibility: The U.S. version runs at 115 V AC / 60 Hz — for Australia (230 V / 50 Hz), ensure you order the correct variant or use a certified transformer/adaptor.
How is the unit packaged for transit and what site requirements should be met?
Ships boxed and palletized; unpacked footprint: ~86 cm H × 47 cm W × 48 cm D; door-open depth ~91 cm. Delivery surface must be level, firm and clear from vehicle to installation site.
What should I do if my shipment arrives damaged or delayed?
Inspect the unit and packaging on arrival for visible damage. Photograph any damage, retain the packaging and delivery receipt, and contact your supplier with your order/tracking details to initiate a freight claim or arrange replacement.
Application FAQ
How do I install and set up the ARS3ML?
1. Place the unit upright on a firm, level indoor surface in a climate-controlled area; allow adequate clearance behind and above for ventilation and approximately 91 cm linear clearance for door opening.
2. Connect to a dedicated grounded outlet matching the export variant ordered.
3. Power on the unit, set the digital controller between +2 °C and +10 °C as required; allow 4–6 hours for the interior to stabilize before loading sensitive contents.
What best practices should I follow when using this refrigerator?
• Place items on the adjustable wire shelves with spacing for airflow; avoid over-packing to maintain uniform cooling.
• Label stored materials (batch number, date/time) and apply first-in/first-out (FIFO) rotation whenever feasible.
• Minimize door-open durations; rely on the external controller/display and data-logger rather than frequent access.
• Regularly inspect the door gasket/seal, lock/handle, and ensure the unit remains level and interior clean.
What should I do if a temperature excursion or power interruption occurs?
If the internal temperature rises above or falls below the target range (+2 °C to +10 °C), or if a power interruption occurs:
• Record the event: date/time, observed temperature and impacted items.
• Transfer critical contents to validated backup storage until conditions stabilize.
• Investigate the cause (door left open, ambient heat load, power or sensor fault).
• Once the unit returns to stable operation within target range, inspect stored items for integrity before resuming standard use.
What maintenance and verification routines are recommended?
• Monthly: Inspect door gasket/seal, hinges and lock/handle operation; ensure unit remains level.
• Quarterly: Clean internal/external surfaces; verify ventilation/exhaust pathways; test alarms and data-logger operation.
• Periodically: Review/export internal min/max temperature logs, confirm calibration certificate validity, and maintain service/maintenance records for compliance.
