Summit Vaccine Refrigerator Freezer Description:
Accucold offers innovative solutions to vaccine storage with stackable purpose-built refrigerator-freezer combinations design to support meeting CDC/VFC guidelines.
Sized just under 24″ wide, the ARS6PV-VT65MLSTACKMED2 combines the 6 cu.ft. ARS6PV auto defrost all-refrigerator with VT65MLBIMED2 all-freezer into one slim footprint using Accucold’s StackRack. This ships in three boxes and requires some minor assembly upon delivery.
Refrigerator Summit ARS6PV-VT65MLSTACKMED2 Vaccine Refrigerator Freezer is part of Accucold’s Pharma-Vac Performance Series, designed to meet the demanding needs of vaccine storage. It utilizes a microprocessor temperature controller with an adjustable control range from +2 to +8ºC. The buffered temperature probe is encased in a glycol-filled bottle to better simulate temperature of the stored product, with an additional sensor that reads air temperature to ensure superior temperature control. The current and min/max temperature display is viewable in Celsius or Fahrenheit to the nearest tenth of a degree. The audible and visual temperature alarm sounds if the unit’s interior goes out of range. Additional alarms include a power failure alert, door open alarm, and sensor failure alarm. This unit is equipped with remote alarm contacts in the rear and a 1/2″ probe port on the right side to accept additional monitoring devices. A factory-installed antimicrobial handle is powder-coated with naturally occurring silver ions, which help to reduce the spread of germs, allowing for a safer, cleaner user experience. This unit comes with a hospital grade cord with a green dot plug for added safety in high traffic areas.
Inside, the Summit ARS6PV-VT65MLSTACKMED2 Vaccine Refrigerator Freezer utilizes adjustable cycle defrost operation to avoid temperature spikes. Optimized forced air cooling with an internal fan ensures excellent temperature stability and uniformity with rapid recovery after door openings. The adjustable plastic-coated wire shelves can be positioned at 1/2″ increments to accommodate virtually any sized item. This unit includes LED internal lighting with an on/off rocker switch. The interior is constructed from white powder coated metal to ensure added durability and better temperature retention.
The refrigerator is designed to be stacked on top of the VT65MLBIMED2, a -25ºC all-freezer that utilizes manual defrost operation. The freezer includes three slide-out plastic storage drawers to better protect the contents from warmer ambient temperature when the door is opened. The digital control panel includes a NIST calibrated thermometer that provides a continuous display of the current and high/low temperature. This unit is also equipped with a temperature alarm and access port to accept additional monitoring equipment.
Both units include front-mounted keyed locks and powerful magnetic gaskets to ensure a positive seal. The refrigerator has a self-closing door for added protection in high traffic settings. Additional stacked combinations are available. Browse Accucold’s website for more information, or contact our sales team at 718-893-3900 to discuss your equipment needs.
NOTE: Accucold refrigerators are purpose-built to the support meeting the current CDC (Centers for Disease Control) guidelines for the storage of vaccines. At this time, Accucold refrigerators have not been evaluated to the new NSF 456 standard. As referenced in the current Vaccine Storage and Handling Toolkit, these units incorporate microprocessor controls and forced air circulation for stable operation between 2 and 8ºC. For additional temperature assurance, the CDC recommends a calibrated digital data logger (DDL), which can be added with the factory-installed option DL2B or addition of the DL2BKit accessory.

Shipping FAQ
How long does shipping take after placing an order?
Estimated shipping time when in stock: 5-7 business days.
Is international shipping available and what should I consider for Melbourne, Australia?
Yes — international shipping can be arranged. When shipping to Melbourne, Australia you should consider:
• Import duties, customs and GST.
• Site access: width ~60 cm, depth ~62 cm (plus ~66 cm with handle) clearance; allow additional depth for door-open swing.
• Electrical compatibility: this unit is rated at 115 V AC/60 Hz (US spec). For Australia (230 V/50 Hz) ensure correct variant or arrange suitable reform.
How is the unit packaged for transit and what site requirements should be met?
The unit ships in three parts (stacked configuration). Unpacked footprint about 173 cm H × 60 cm W × 62 cm D; door swing clearance should be confirmed. Delivery site should have a level, firm surface and clear access from delivery to installation point.
What should I do if my shipment arrives damaged or is delayed?
Upon delivery inspect packaging and unit for signs of transit damage or delay. If damage is present: photograph condition, retain all packaging and delivery documentation, then contact your supplier with order/tracking details to initiate a freight claim or arrange replacement.
Application FAQ
How do I install and set up the ARS6PV-VT65MLSTACKMED2?
1. Move all three boxes into the installation area, assemble the StackRack per manufacturer instructions so the refrigerator is at the bottom, then secure the freezer section on top.
2. Position the unit upright on a firm, level indoor surface; ensure clearance behind and above for ventilation and allow full door opening (~66 cm depth).
3. Connect the unit to a dedicated grounded outlet matching its specification (115 V AC/60 Hz for the US version) or the correct local variant for your region (Australian 230 V/50 Hz) and power on.
4. Set the digital controller for the refrigerator section to target range (+2 °C to +8 °C) and for the freezer section to target range (-12 °C to -25 °C); allow several hours (typically 4-6 hrs) for temperature stabilization before loading sensitive items.
What best practices should I follow when using this refrigerator/freezer combination?
• Use the adjustable wire shelves and keep space around items for airflow; avoid over-packing either the fridge or freezer section.
• Label stored items (date/time, batch) and use First-In/First-Out (FIFO) stock rotation when applicable.
• Minimize door-open time: rely on external display/monitoring instead of frequent door checks.
• Regularly inspect the door gasket/seal, door self-close mechanism (if included), the lock, and cleaning of interior surfaces.
What should I do if a temperature excursion or power interruption occurs?
If interior temperature moves outside the target range or power interruption occurs:
• Record the event (date/time, observed temperature, contents impacted).
• Move critical contents to validated backup storage until the system returns to stable operation.
• Investigate the root cause (door left open too long, ambient heat load, power fault or sensor failure).
• Once conditions stabilize and temperature returns within range, verify contents before returning to routine storage.
What maintenance and verification routines are recommended?
• Monthly: Check door gasket/seal condition, hinges/handle/lock mechanism, and ensure the unit remains level on its surface.
• Quarterly: Clean external surfaces, inspect ventilation inlet/outlet (if applicable), verify alarm and probe-port functionality.
• Periodically: Inspect and record minimum/maximum internal temperature logs, maintain calibration certificates for any data logger equipment, and archive service records — particularly important for vaccine/medical-grade compliance.
