Summit Vaccine Refrigerator Freezer Description:
Accucold offers innovative solutions to vaccine storage with stackable purpose-built refrigerator-freezer combinations design to support meeting CDC/VFC guidelines, with a powder-coated silver ion handle that helps prevent germ spread.
Sized just under 24″ wide, the ARS8PV-FS30LSTACKMED2 combines the 8 cu.ft. ARS8PV auto defrost all-refrigerator with the compact FS30LMED2 all-freezer into one slim footprint using Accucold’s StackRack. This ships in three boxes and requires some minor assembly upon delivery.
Refrigerator ARS8PV is part of Accucold’s Pharma-Vac Performance Series, designed to meet the demanding needs of vaccine storage. It utilizes a microprocessor temperature controller with an adjustable control range from +2 to +8ºC. The buffered temperature probe is encased in a glycol-filled bottle to better simulate temperature of the stored product, with an additional sensor that reads air temperature to ensure superior temperature control. The current and min/max temperature display is viewable in Celsius or Fahrenheit to the nearest tenth of a degree. The audible and visual temperature alarm sounds if the unit’s interior goes out of range. Additional alarms include a power failure alert, door open alarm, and sensor failure alarm. This unit is equipped with remote alarm contacts in the rear and a 1/2″ probe port on the right side to accept additional monitoring devices. This unit comes with a hospital grade cord with a green dot plug for added safety in high traffic areas, as well as a factory-installed antimicrobial handle powder-coated with naturally occurring silver ions, which help to reduce the spread of germs, allowing for a safer, cleaner user experience.
Inside, the ARS8PV utilizes adjustable cycle defrost operation to avoid temperature spikes. Optimized forced air cooling with two internal fans ensures excellent temperature stability and uniformity with rapid recovery after door openings. The adjustable plastic-coated wire shelves can be positioned at 1/2″ increments to accommodate virtually any sized item. We include seven shelves, more than competitor products providing to maximize interior shelving storage area. This unit includes LED internal lighting with an on/off rocker switch. The interior is constructed from white powder coated metal to ensure added durability and better temperature retention.
Designed to be stacked on top of the ARS8PV, the FS30LMED2 freezer utilizes manual defrost operation, with a digital control panel and NIST calibrated thermometer that provides a continuous display of the current and high/low temperature. This unit is also equipped with a temperature alarm and access port to accept additional monitoring equipment. The 1.8 cu.ft. interior with two adjustable wire shelves provide ample storage, while it can operate at temperatures as low as -20°C, ideal for vaccine storage and other sensitive materials.
Both units include front-mounted keyed locks and powerful magnetic gaskets to ensure a positive seal. The refrigerator has a self-closing door for added protection in high traffic settings. Additional stacked combinations are available, including smaller sizes and units with glass doors. Browse Accucold’s website for more information, or contact our sales team at 718-893-3900 to discuss your equipment needs.
NOTE: Accucold refrigerators are purpose-built to the support meeting the current CDC (Centers for Disease Control) guidelines for the storage of vaccines. At this time, Accucold refrigerators have not been evaluated to the new NSF 456 standard. As referenced in the current Vaccine Storage and Handling Toolkit, these units incorporate microprocessor controls and forced air circulation for stable operation between 2 and 8ºC. For additional temperature assurance, the CDC recommends a calibrated digital data logger (DDL), which can be added with the factory-installed option DL2B or addition of the DL2BKit accessory.

Shipping FAQ
How long does shipping take after placing an order?
Typical estimated lead time: 5-7 days when in stock.
Is international shipping available and what should I consider for Melbourne, Australia?
Yes — international shipping can be arranged. For delivery to Melbourne you should consider:
• Import duties, customs clearance & Goods & Services Tax (GST)
• Freight access: door width, corridor/elevator clearance, floor loading capacity
• Electrical compatibility: this model is specified for 115 V AC/60 Hz (U.S. version); if installing in Australia (230 V/50 Hz) you must verify correct variant or arrange a suitable transformer.
How is the unit packaged for transit and what site requirements should be met?
The unit ships in multiple boxes (stacked configuration); unpacked footprint is ~194 cm H × ~59 cm W × ~62 cm D; door-open depth ~118 cm. Ensure the delivery site has a firm, level surface, sufficient entry/door clearance and handling equipment (pallet jack or lift) if required.
What should I do if my shipment arrives damaged or is delayed?
On delivery inspect the packaging and unit for visible damage or signs of transit delay. If damage is found: photograph the condition, retain packaging and delivery receipt, then contact your supplier with order/tracking details to initiate a claim or replacement.
Application FAQ
How do I install and set up the ARS8PV-FS30LSTACKMED2?
1. Position the unit upright on a firm, level surface in a climate-controlled room; allow clearance behind, on both sides and above for ventilation; ensure full door swing (~118 cm) is unobstructed.
2. Connect to a dedicated grounded outlet rated for 115 V AC/60 Hz (verify appropriate variant if using in Australia).
3. Switch on the unit; set refrigerator section to within +2 °C to +8 °C and freezer section to within -20 °C to -15 °C. Allow several hours (typically ~3-4 h) for internal temperature stabilization before loading critical contents.
4. Confirm the controller/display is working, alarms (high/low temperature, door-open, power-fault) respond, the door locking mechanism works, and shelving is installed and airflow is unobstructed.
What best practices should I follow when storing vaccines or temperature-sensitive materials?
• Use adjustable wire shelving; avoid over-packing or blocking airflow to maintain uniform internal conditions.
• Clearly label stored items with date/time, batch or user ID to support traceability and audit requirements.
• Minimize door openings and time the door is open—store frequently accessed items near front to reduce ambient air intrusion.
• Regularly inspect the door gasket/seal, hinges and lock; maintain logs of minimum/maximum internal temperatures and any alarm events if required by facility protocol.
What should I do if a temperature excursion or power interruption occurs?
If internal temperature rises above or falls below safe range:
• Record date/time, observed temperature, impacted contents.
• Immediately relocate critical items to a validated backup refrigeration/freezer until conditions stabilize.
• Investigate root cause (door left open, ambient heat load, sensor/power fault).
• Once stable and back in range, verify conditions before returning items.
What maintenance and verification routines are recommended?
• Monthly: Inspect door gasket/seal, hinges, and locking mechanism for wear or damage.
• Quarterly: Clean condenser coils and ventilation pathways; ensure fan/airflow are unobstructed and free of dust or blockage.
• Periodically: Test audible/visual alarms, remote alarm contacts (if present) and calibrate sensors as required. Maintain service/calibration logs, internal temperature logs and alarm-event history for audit readiness.
