Summit General Medical Healthcare Refrigerator Description:
Accucold’s general purpose series offers reliable cold storage in a variety of designs, including full-sized manual defrost all-refrigerators ideal for laboratory and clinical settings that require temperatures with more stability than traditional no-frost equipment.
Summit URM19W General Medical Healthcare Refrigerator is an upright all-refrigerator with an 18.3 cu.ft. interior storage capacity. Manual defrost operation ensures a more stable interior with none of the warming cycles that can compromise temperature in traditional frost-free cooling systems. The dial thermostat is located inside to prevent accidental temperature adjustments, with a thermometer/alarm mounted externally to ensure a readout of the current and high/low interior temperature is visible without opening the door. The temperature probe is encased in glass beads and positioned in a fixed shelf in the center of the unit to best simulate the temperature of stored items. We include an additional probe hole to accommodate additional monitoring equipment.
This Summit URM19W General Medical Healthcare Refrigerator features cantilevered shelves to provide more flexibility in storage, with tight spacing between the pilasters so you can adjust as needed. Four adjustable door racks are also included for optional storage. This unit features LED lighting for an efficient view. It comes in a white exterior finish with a right-hand door swing and powerful seal to ensure items are protected.
The Summit URM19W General Medical Healthcare Refrigerator comes with a right hand door swing and factory-installed lock located towards the top of the door. It includes a 9’5″ long power cord with a hospital-grade ‘green dot’ plug for a more secure connection, ideal for high-traffic environments. The cooling system utilizes hydrocarbon refrigerant for a greener footprint. This model meets NSF-7 commercial standards and is ETL-listed for the U.S. and Canada. For a matching freezer, see model UFM19W.
With its large storage capacity and advanced features, the URM19W is ideal for storing non-critical products in research, clinical, and industrial laboratory applications. Additional choices from Accucold are available, including no-frost options and purpose-built refrigeration approved to the NSF/ANSI Vaccine Storage Standard.

Product FAQ
What is the URM19W and what is it designed for?
The URM19W is a general-purpose upright healthcare/research refrigerator with approximately 18.3 cu ft (≈ 518 L) capacity and a footprint of ~775 mm wide (≈ 30.5″). It is built for lab, clinical or institutional cold-storage applications requiring a stable +1 °C to +10 °C temperature range.
What temperature range and control features does it support?
It supports an internal range of ~+1 °C to +10 °C, uses a mechanical dial thermostat, and features an external temperature read-out of current/high-low interior conditions plus a buffered probe located on a fixed mid-shelf to simulate stored-product temperature.
What alarm, monitoring and security features are included?
Includes audible/visual high/low-temperature alarm, a factory-installed keyed lock, an access port for external probe monitoring, and an external digital or analogue read-out located without opening the door.
What construction and usability features support its application?
Features a white finished exterior cabinet, adjustable wire shelving (4 shelves), LED interior lighting, manual-defrost static cooling to provide a more stable interior, and a hospital-grade “green-dot” plug power cord for secure connection in high-traffic environments.
Shipping FAQ
What are the exterior dimensions and shipping weight?
Cabinet approx. 1830 mm H × 775 mm W × 700 mm D (≈ 72″ H × 30.5″ W × 27.6″ D); shipping weight approx. 98 kg (≈ 215 lbs).
What electrical and installation requirements apply?
Operates on 115 V AC / 60 Hz, draws approx 2.7 amps; requires dedicated grounded outlet, install on level surface, and ensure adequate clearance for door swing and airflow.
What steps should be taken during unpacking and placement?
Inspect the unit on receipt for visible transit damage; if transported on its side allow upright settling time before powering; ensure the cabinet is level; permit clear door-opening and ventilation; test the thermostat/alarm system before loading contents.
What delivery or shipping method is typical for this model?
Due to its size and institutional specification, this model typically ships via palletized freight. Confirm receiving access and stable installation site in advance of delivery.
Application FAQ
Is this unit suitable for healthcare or laboratory cold-storage?
Yes — the URM19W is designed for research, clinical or institutional applications requiring stable refrigeration rather than consumer-grade cooling. Its manual-defrost static system avoids the warming cycles found in frost-free units.
What daily best practices should be followed?
Place a calibrated data logger or min-max thermometer on the mid-shelf; label and rotate stored contents; avoid over-packing shelves which may restrict airflow; minimize door-open time; record start-of-day internal temperature readings as part of facility SOP.
What routine maintenance is recommended?
Semi-annually clean condenser/ventilation surfaces; monthly verify alarm and probe/thermostat function; annually inspect door seal for integrity; ensure unit remains level and vents are unobstructed.
What should be done in the event of a temperature excursion or alarm?
Document the time, deviation, and affected contents; relocate items to backup storage if necessary; identify and correct root cause (e.g., door left open, blocked airflow, power interruption); restore set-point conditions and log corrective actions as per facility protocol.
