Summit Undercounter Vaccine Freezer Description:
Accucold’s MED2 series puts the most commonly requested features into a quality line of all-refrigerators and freezers specially designed to store vaccines and other sensitive materials in medical, scientific, pharmaceutical, and laboratory institutions.
The Summit VT65MLBIMED2ADA Undercounter Vaccine Freezer is an all-freezer sized in a convenient 24″ footprint and 32″ height. The front breathing design allows built-in installation under lower ADA compliant counters, while the fully finished cabinet in white also enables freestanding use. This unit is designed with an external front control panel that allows users to adjust and monitor the temperature without opening the door or bending down to the floor. The front keyed lock is located towards the top of the door for added convenience. A hospital grade ‘green dot’ cord offers added safety in high traffic environments.
As recommended by the CDC and VFC programs, the VT65MLBIMED2ADA is equipped with a NIST calibrated thermometer that displays the current, minimum, and maximum temperatures to the nearest tenth of a degree with a readout viewable in Celsius or Fahrenheit. Each VT65MLBIMED2ADA ships with a certificate of calibration for your records. The thermometer includes an audible alarm to warn users if the interior has gone out of the programmed temperature range. The buffered temperature probe is encased in a glycol-filled bottle to best simulate the temperature of other stored contents, resulting in the utmost accuracy for temperature reporting. We include a pre-installed 3/8″ probe hole for users who wish to install additional monitoring equipment.
The Summit VT65MLBIMED2ADA Undercounter Vaccine Freezer features a 3.2 cu.ft. interior capacity and extra thick walls for reliable insulation. Slide-out baskets with clear plastic fronts allow users to view stored contents without exposing them to room temperature every time the door is opened. This low temperature freezer is designed to operate between -12ºC to -25ºC, an ideal temperature for certain vaccines, samples, and other sensitive medical materials. It has a flat door liner as recommended by the CDC.
All MED2 series units are assembled in the USA from domestic and imported components. The VT65MLBIMED2ADA can be paired with a matching all-refrigerator (FF7LBIMED2ADA). This unit can also be customized with additional features, including a self-closing door or USB temperature logger with a digital display. Contact our product specialists to learn more. Products in the MED2 series come with a two year warranty on parts and labor and a five year warranty on the compressor.
*NOTE: This unit’s thermostat is pre-set for Celsius. If you prefer Fahrenheit, add complimentary option DTMEDF or let your sales representative know upon order.
NOTE: Accucold freezers are purpose-built to the support meeting the current CDC (Centers for Disease Control) guidelines for the storage of vaccines. As referenced in the current Vaccine Storage and Handling Toolkit, these units incorporate several key features for stable operation. For additional temperature assurance, the CDC recommends a calibrated digital data logger (DDL), which can be added with the factory-installed option DL2B or addition of the DL2BKit accessory. Select Accucold products have been tested and certified to the new NSF 456 standard, and are now available for purchase. For additional information, contact our products specialists.

Shipping FAQ
How long does shipping take after placing an order?
Typical lead time: 3–5 business days once the unit is in stock and ready for dispatch.
Is international shipping available and what should I consider for Melbourne, Australia?
Yes — international shipping is available. For delivery to Melbourne, Australia, you should consider:
• Import duties, customs clearance and GST.
• Site access: ensure doorways, elevators or corridors can accommodate approx 60 cm width × 60 cm depth and allow approx 116 cm front clearance for full door opening.
• Electrical compatibility: The standard model is 115 V AC / 60 Hz (US variant) — for Australia (230 V / 50 Hz) you must order the correct export variant or use a certified step-down transformer installed by a licensed electrician.
How is the unit packaged for transit and what site requirements should be met?
The unit ships boxed and palletized; unpacked footprint approximates ~81 cm H × ~60 cm W × ~60 cm D; door-open depth ~116 cm. Ensure the delivery path is level, firm and clear from the vehicle to the installation location.
What should I do if my shipment arrives damaged or delayed?
When the shipment arrives, inspect the outer packaging and unit for any visible transit damage. Photograph any damage, retain both the packaging and delivery receipt, then contact your supplier promptly with your order/tracking details to initiate a freight claim or arrange replacement.
Application FAQ
How do I install and set up the VT65MLBIMED2ADA?
1. Install the unit under counter (or freestanding if required) on a firm, level indoor surface in a climate-controlled room; ensure ventilation behind/top and allow approx 116 cm front clearance for door opening.
2. Connect to a dedicated grounded outlet matching the ordered variant’s voltage.
3. Power on the unit and allow approximately 2–4 hours for internal temperature stabilization at the target range (–12 °C to –25 °C) before loading sensitive materials.
What best practices should I follow when using this freezer?
• Place items in the slide-out drawers with sufficient spacing for airflow; avoid over-packing which can reduce temperature uniformity.
• Use the external digital display and probe monitoring rather than frequent door openings to maintain stable conditions.
• Label stored items (batch number, date/time) and apply first-in/first-out (FIFO) rotation where applicable.
• Regularly inspect door gasket/seal, hinges and lock mechanism; ensure the unit remains level and clean interior surfaces.
What should I do if a temperature excursion or power interruption occurs?
• Record the event: date/time, observed temperature and impacted contents.
• Transfer critical items to validated backup storage until safe temperatures are restored.
• Investigate potential causes (door left open, high ambient heat load, power or sensor fault).
• Once the unit returns to the target temperature range and remains stable, verify stored items for integrity before resuming normal operation.
What maintenance and verification routines are recommended?
• Monthly: Check door gasket/seal integrity, hinges/lock operation; verify unit remains level.
• Quarterly: Clean interior and exterior surfaces; verify monitoring port functionality, thermometer accuracy and airflow.
• Periodically: Review temperature logs (if using monitoring), confirm calibration certificate validity for any external monitoring equipment, and maintain documented service/maintenance records for compliance.
