Summit Undercounter Vaccine ADA Refrigerator Description:
Accucold’s Pharma-Vac Performance Series are upright all-refrigerators designed and purpose-built for pharmacy, medication, and vaccine applications to support meeting CDC/VFC guidelines.
The Summit ARS32PVBIADA Undercounter Vaccine ADA Refrigerator is a 2.83 cu.ft. all-refrigerator with a temperature range of +2°C to +8°C. Sized at 32″ high to fit under lower counters complying with ADA guidelines for accessibility. It is designed for freestanding or recessed installation. The microprocessor temperature controller is externally located to minimize door openings, helping to protect stored contents from ambient temperature. The buffered temperature probe is encased in a glycol-filled bottle to better simulate temperature of the stored product, with an additional sensor that reads air temperature to ensure superior temperature control. The current and min/max temperature display is viewable in Celsius or Fahrenheit to the nearest tenth of a degree. The audible and visual temperature alarm sounds if the unit’s interior goes out of range. Additional alarms include a power failure alert, door open alarm, and sensor failure alarm. This model is equipped with remote alarm contacts in the rear and a 1/2″ probe port on the right side to accept additional monitoring devices. A hospital grade cord with ‘green dot’ plug is also included for added safety in high traffic areas.
Inside, the Summit ARS32PVBIADA Undercounter Vaccine ADA Refrigerator utilizes adjustable cycle defrost operation to avoid temperature spikes. Optimized forced air cooling with an internal fan to ensure excellent temperature stability and uniformity with rapid recovery after door openings. The adjustable plastic-coated wire shelves can be positioned at 1/2″ increments to accommodate virtually any sized item. This unit includes LED internal lighting with an on/off rocker switch. The interior is constructed from white powder coated metal to ensure added durability and better temperature retention.
The Summit ARS32PVBIADA Undercounter Vaccine ADA Refrigerator comes in a white cabinet finish with a blue accented control panel. The factory-installed antimicrobial handle is powder-coated with naturally occurring silver ions, which help to reduce the spread of germs, allowing for a safer, cleaner user experience. The user-reversible door ships with a right hand swing and self-closing function (note: self-closing is disabled once reversed to LHD), while a factory-installed lock provides security as needed, with two keys for staff use. Powerful magnetic gaskets ensure a positive seal.
Designed with hydrocarbon refrigerant, the ARS32PVBIADA provides an energy efficient solution to vaccine storage. This unit is Pyxis, Omnicell, and AcuDose RX compatible. Additional sizes, as well as solid door options, are also available. Explore the full Pharma-Vac series at accucold.com/pharmavac.
NOTE: Accucold refrigerators are purpose-built to the support meeting the current CDC (Centers for Disease Control) guidelines for the storage of vaccines. At this time, Accucold refrigerators have not been evaluated to the new NSF 456 standard. As referenced in the current Vaccine Storage and Handling Toolkit, these units incorporate microprocessor controls and forced air circulation for stable operation between 2 and 8ºC. For additional temperature assurance, the CDC recommends a calibrated digital data logger (DDL), which can be added with the factory-installed option DL2B or addition of the DL2BKit accessory.

Shipping FAQ
How long does shipping take after placing an order?
Typical dispatch when in stock is next-day (or minimal lead) from select U.S. inventory. Transit time will depend on destination and carrier.
Is international shipping available and what should I consider for Melbourne, Australia?
Yes — international shipping can be arranged. For delivery to Melbourne, Australia you should consider:
• Import duties & customs clearance including Goods & Services Tax (GST)
• Site access: doorway width, corridor/ elevator clearance, floor-loading capacity
• Electrical/mains compatibility: This model is specified for 115 V AC/60 Hz (U.S. version) — if installing in Australia (230 V /50 Hz) verify variant or transformer.
How is the unit packaged for transit and what site requirements should be met?
The unit ships palletized and boxed with protective packaging. Approx. unpacked footprint is ~81 cm H × ~50 cm W × ~57 cm D; allow door-open depth ~102 cm. Ensure the delivery site has a firm level surface, sufficient clearance and handling equipment (e.g., pallet jack or lift) if required.
What should I do if my shipment arrives damaged or is delayed?
Upon delivery inspect the packaging and unit for visible damage or signs of delay. If damage is found: photograph, retain all packaging and delivery receipt, then contact the supplier with your order/tracking details to initiate a freight claim or replacement.
Application FAQ
How do I install and set up the ARS32PVBIADA?
1. Position the unit under a counter or on a firm, level surface in a climate-controlled room; allow clearance behind, on both sides and above for ventilation; ensure door can fully open (depth ~102 cm) without obstruction.
2. Connect to a dedicated grounded outlet compatible with 115 V AC/60 Hz. For Australian installation ensure correct voltage variant or transformer is used.
3. Plug in and power on the unit; set the target temperature within the +2 °C to +8 °C range. Allow several hours (typically 3-4 hours) for internal temperature stabilization before loading vaccines or temperature-sensitive materials.
4. Confirm control panel/display is functioning, audible/visual alarms (high/low temp, door-open, power fault) respond, the pre-installed probe port is accessible, door-lock (if used) works, and shelving is adjusted before routine loading.
What best practices should I follow when storing vaccines or sensitive materials?
• Use adjustable wire shelving; avoid over-packing or blocking airflow so that air circulates freely for uniform internal temperature.
• Label all stored items clearly with date/time, batch or user ID for traceability and audit compliance.
• Minimize door openings and the time the door remains open — store frequently accessed items near front to reduce ambient temperature intrusions.
• Regularly inspect the door gasket/seal, hinges, handle/lock mechanism; maintain logs of internal minimum/maximum temperatures and any alarm events if required by your facility protocol.
What should I do if a temperature excursion or power interruption occurs?
If the internal temperature rises above or falls below the safe range (+2 °C to +8 °C), or a power interruption occurs:
• Record the event: date/time, observed temperature and impacted contents.
• Immediately relocate critical items to a validated backup refrigeration system until conditions stabilize.
• Investigate root cause (door left open, ambient heat load, sensor/power fault).
• Once the unit returns to stable operation and internal temperature is within range, verify conditions before returning contents.
What maintenance and verification routines are recommended?
• Monthly: Inspect door gasket/seal, hinges, handle/lock for wear or damage.
• Quarterly: Clean condenser coils and ventilation pathways; ensure fan/airflow is unobstructed and free of dust or blockages.
• Periodically: Test audible/visual alarms, remote alarm contacts and calibrate sensors if required. Maintain service/calibration logs, internal temperature logs and alarm-event history for audit readiness.
