Summit Commercial Reach-In Refrigerator Description:
Summit Commercial’s line of reach-in refrigeration features durable construction built to NSF-7 commercial standards.
Made in South Korea, the Summit SCR49SSG Commercial 49 cu.ft. Reach-In Refrigerator is a two-door commercial all-refrigerator with a complete stainless steel cabinet. The stainless steel doors features a self-closing design to help protect stored contents in busy commercial settings where customers may not take the time to make sure the door is closed. They will remain open when pushed to 90º, making it easier to load and unload the unit. The sealed back design helps to simplify cleanup. This unit features a factory-installed lock located towards the top of the door for convenient security. We include a set of locking casters for optional installation.
The Summit SCR49SSG Commercial 49 cu.ft. Reach-In Refrigerator features a large 49 cu.ft. interior constructed from stainless steel for easy cleanup and lasting durability. The cantilevered shelving system allows you to adjust the eight vinyl-coated shelves to virtually any position, making it easy to accommodate any sized item. This unit is designed to fit common commercial baking trays. The LED lighting offers an energy efficient display when the door is opened. This unit utilizes adjustable cycle defrost operation to avoid temperature spikes, with a top-mounted forced air cooling system to ensure rapid temperature recovery.
To ensure optimum storage conditions, the SCR49SSG is equipped with a microprocessor temperature controller that makes it easy for staff to adjust the temperature. The large digital LED readout displays the current and high/low temperatures in Celsius or Fahrenheit. An audible and visual temperature alarm sounds if the unit rises or falls above a user-set rage. Additional alarms include a power failure alert, door open alarm, and a condenser cleaning reminder.
Designed with hydrocarbon refrigerant, the SCR49SSG provides an energy efficient solution to large capacity storage. It is ETL-S listed to NSF-7 commercial standards. For a matching solid door frost-free freezer, see the SCFF497.

Shipping FAQ
How long does shipping take after placing an order?
The lead time depends on stock and manufacturer pipeline; when in stock dispatch is often within a few business days, transit time will vary based on destination and courier.
Is international shipping available and what should I consider for Melbourne, Australia?
Yes, international shipping is possible. For delivery to Melbourne, Australia you should consider:
• Import duties, customs clearance and Goods & Services Tax (GST).
• Site access: door width, corridor/elevator clearance, floor-loading capacity for the palletized unit (weight ~200 kg).
• Electrical compatibility: This model is specified for 115 V AC/60 Hz (U.S. version) — if installing in Australia (230 V/50 Hz) ensure you order a compatible variant or use a suitable transformer/voltage converter and verify plug/voltage compliance.
How is the unit packaged for transit and what site requirements should be met?
Unit ships palletized and boxed, approximate shipping weight ~200 kg plus pallet. Unpacked footprint ~213 cm H × ~140 cm W × ~79 cm D; ensure door-open clearance (~144 cm) and that the delivery site has a firm, level surface and appropriate handling equipment (pallet jack/forklift) as needed.
What should I do if my shipment arrives damaged or is delayed?
Upon delivery inspect packaging and unit for visible damage or delayed freight. If damage is present: photograph condition, retain the original packaging and delivery receipt, then contact the supplier with your order/tracking details to initiate a freight claim or replacement.
Application FAQ
How do I install and set up the SCR49SSG?
1. Place the unit upright on a firm, level floor in a climate-controlled indoor space; allow adequate ventilation behind and above per manufacturer instructions, and ensure door clearance (approx. 144 cm depth with door open).
2. Connect to a dedicated grounded outlet matching the specification (115 V AC/60 Hz). If installing in Australia, verify the correct variant or arrange a suitable step-down transformer and plug conversion.
3. Plug in the unit, power on, and set the controller to your target fridge temperature (typically +0 °C to +4 °C or 33 °F-41 °F range depending on content). Allow several hours for internal temperature stabilization before loading high-value contents.
4. Verify doors self-close properly, digital controls and alarms (temperature, door-open, high/low) function correctly, shelving is appropriately arranged, and airflow is unobstructed.
What best practices should I follow when using this reach-in refrigerator?
• Load contents in a way that preserves airflow around items—avoid over-packing.
• Use the glass display doors for visual monitoring of inventory without excessive door openings.
• Label items, rotate stock (first-in/first-out) if applicable, and minimize door-open time to maintain stable internal temperatures.
• Regularly check door gasket/seal, hinges and casters, ensure unit remains level, and keep the back panel/vent clear from dust for optimal performance.
What should I do if a temperature excursion or power interruption occurs?
If the internal temperature moves outside the desired range:
• Record event (date/time, observed temperature, impacted contents).
• Relocate critical contents to validated backup refrigeration until conditions stabilize.
• Investigate the cause (door left open, high ambient heat load, power/sensor fault).
• Once system returns to stable operation and internal temperature is within range, verify content integrity before returning to routine storage.
What maintenance and verification routines are recommended?
• Monthly: Inspect door gasket/seal, hinges/handle, lock mechanism and ensure the unit remains level and stable on its casters.
• Quarterly: Clean condenser/coils (top-mounted fan area), clear ventilation pathways, inspect fan operation and remove dust build-up.
• Annually: Verify digital controller alarm functionality, check temperature logs for min/max stability, and maintain service/calibration logs in line with your facility’s audit requirements.
